Introduction:

The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk is the 2017 sequel to the 2013 point and click adventure game, The Inner World. It continues the story started in that game. Three years have passed since the fall of the evil Conroy, but a faction of anti-flute nose people – the Conroyalists – have risen in his stead. Asposia is still dangerous for Robert and his kind, and it is up to him, Laura, and their loyal pigeon Peck to save Asposia from a dangerous regime.

While this game is a bit more difficult than the original, if you are familiar with point and click adventures at all, it still doesn't pose much of a challenge. Trophy-wise, the list is nearly identical to the first game's, with a few miscellaneous trophies, but the majority being story-related, as well as a few game-spanning ones involving talking to NPCs and refraining from using the hint system.

I have written a trophy walkthrough HERE, should you need it. (it's not posted yet :P)

As of the writing of this guide, Blabbermouth :gold (and thus the :plat) is unobtainable in both versions of the game. The developers are aware of this issue and will be releasing a fix with the next patch. Also, if you skip the ending cutscenes, any trophies that are supposed to unlock at the end of the game will NOT unlock!

Walkthrough:

Although I'm breaking this up into chapters, note that there is no chapter select in the game, so keep a close eye the trophy list in each step to avoid replaying the game. Don't press L2, or you will lock yourself out of a game-spanning trophy.

Step 1: Play Chapter 1

Chapter 1 follows Robert and Peck into Woolington. Make sure to talk to all the NPCs and make progress towards Return to sender :bronze.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

One doused root lizard :bronze
If at first you don't succeed :bronze
Who cable cares? :bronze
Chapter 1 – Welcome to Woolington :gold

Step 2: Play Chapter 2

Chapter 2 follows Laura as she attempts to escape from prison. Make sure to talk to all the NPCs.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Kick it like Peacham :bronze
Knock-Knock Master :bronze
Green is not a creative color :bronze
Chapter 2 – Prison Escape :gold

Step 3: Play Chapter 3

Chapter 3 involves Robert and Laura sneaking onto a cable car to get ot Old Aspia. Make sure to talk to all NPCs and make progress towards Return to sender :bronze.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Feeding the drill rats :bronze
Public Enemy No. 1 :bronze
Negative thinking doesn't pay off :bronze
Chapter 3 – The Center of the World :gold

Step 4: Play Chapter 4

Chapter 4 follows Robert and Laura as they try to make contact with the mystical Mama Dola. Make sure to talk to all NPCs.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Bingo! :bronze
Boom! :bronze
Chapter 4- Reunion in Old Aspia :gold

Step 5: Play Chapter 5

Chapter 5 involves Robert finishing his quest to locate the last wind monk. Make sure to talk to all NPCs.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Raft ride :bronze
Monolith :bronze
Chapter 5 – The Secret of the Foggy Valley :gold

Step 6: Play Chapter 6

Robert must take down Emil and break up the Conroyalists for the sake of Asposia! Make sure to talk to all NPCs and finalize your work towards Return to sender :bronze. When you get to the ending cutscenes, put down your controller. If you skip the ending cutscenes, all game-spanning trophies WILL NOT unlock!

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Story Wizard :bronze
Back in bag :bronze
Chapter 6 – Wind of Change :gold

And the game-spanning:

Return to sender :bronze
Mr. Wise-Guy :gold
Blabbermouth :gold

Step 7: Start a new game

Your one job is to play the game and use the hint system (L2) as often as possible. Exhaust the hint system, then do an action in-game and see if there are new hints to unlock.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Casual-Gamer :bronze

And finally... Contributor to the Encyclopaedia Asposia :plat! Congratulations!

Congratulations Flute-Nose!

7Sd01c0a.pngChapter 6 - Wind of Change :gold
You ended the Conroyalist's reign of terror. Now all of Aposia knows the truth about Emil and the flute-noses. Long live democracy and King Ocario Boe III.!

Story related and cannot be missed. Will unlock during the ending credits of the game. DO NOT skip the ending cutscenes, or this trophy will not unlock!

8S4abfa7.pngBlabbermouth :gold
You talked to every possible character in Asposia at least once. And there’s quite a lot of ‘em in the game!

Like the first game, there is a trophy for speaking with every character in the game. Most of them you will need to speak to for story reasons anyways, so this isn't as bad as it sounds. Keep in mind there is no chapter select, so you'll need to do this in a single playthrough.

Chapter 1: Libretta, Humpernickel, Molly, Tied-Up Guy, Emil's Brother (Wacky Stuff Shopkeeper)

Chapter 2: Emil, Libretta, hole (Uncle Oboe), pacing guard, cactus guard, prisoners

Chapter 3: Boggo, ticket machine (Laura responding), ticket machine (machine responding), Misterson, guard, traveler on cable car, help line woman

Chapter 4: Mama Dola, statue, crazy guy, Laura (as Robert), Robert (as Laura), merchant, Bingo Pony, sleeping Asposian

Chapter 5: Gorf, Gorf kids (wait until you find Lucas), tree, flute noses, FayFay

Chapter 6: Uncle Oboe, Miss Schwitz, guards

The trophy will not unlock until the ending cutscene (assuming you're on Patch 1.02.  Otherwise, it won't unlock at all).

9S2ff0fc.pngMr. Wise-Guy :gold
You didn’t use the help system at all! Congratulations, you can consider yourself an Adventure expert now. From now on, your friends may officially call you “Mr. Wise-Guy”.

Self-explanatory. Pressing L2 brings up the hint system, where you can unlock hints. In the first game, simply pressing L2 to bring up the option didn't disable this trophy, so I'm assuming it's the same way for this game. To play it safe, I would avoid L2 entirely – unlike the first game, there is never an instance where you would need to press L2.

12S0f708d.pngIf at first you don't succeed :bronze
Failures won't stop you from trying again - good for you! But now try something else please.

Chapter 1

In the Wacky Stuff Store, Robert will need to play a game of darts to win a cup and ball toy to progress the story – and, of course, he'll have to cheat. Before doing that, though, pick up a nearby dart to try, and Robert will fail. Try again with a regular dart to unlock this trophy.

13S92b720.pngWho cable cares? :bronze
Who cares about the cable car model of some weird shopkeeper? You certainly don't! You somehow managed to find the correct settings for the control panel without looking under the sheet in the general store.

Chapter 1

In the Wacky Stuff Store, Robert will be able to move a sheet that covers a model of the cable car he needs to repair. This model will outright tell you the answer to the puzzle as to how to get the cable car working. Simply avoid this sheet altogether, and you'll be on track for this trophy.

To get the cable car control panel working, you must do the following:

  • Use the lever with the gear shift, and move the lever to the bottom left picture (looks like a little boat)

  • Put the circlet dialer in the center and move the dial so it's pointing northeast (2:00 position)

  • Press the middle two buttons in the row of four buttons.

  • Use the throttle to start the cable car

This doesn't need to be done flawlessly to unlock this trophy; it just needs to be done without having looked at the model. The trophy will unlock a bit later, after the cutscenes that end the chapter.

15S242144.png Knock-Knock Master :bronze
Hello, hello, anybody home? Uncle Oboe's crazy game of Knock-Knock was no match for your brilliant mastermind, since you easily beat it at the first go. Or you were just lucky. Anyway, congratulations for winning the grand prize - 1 roll of toilet paper!

Chapter 2

For story-related reasons, Laura must play a game of knock-knock with the imprisoned Uncle Oboe. To unlock this trophy, you will need to play the game flawlessly twice, without ever having guessed incorrectly.

The knock-knock game is random, but has simple rules. Count the number of knocks you hear (the subtitles help with this, as sometimes the knocks echo), then add one, and that's your answer.

17S1521a2.png Public Enemy No. 1 :bronze
You disobeyed the system by removing the travel poster in Asposia Central. Congratulations! Consider yourself an outlaw.

Story related and cannot be missed.

In Chapter 3, if you walk up the stairs in Asposia Central, the left-most poster you see will be the one you can remove – and will have to in order to solve a puzzle. Either Robert or Peck can remove the poster and unlock the trophy.

19S94ba1b.png Feeding the drill rats :bronze
You showed your fondness of animals by feeding some sawdust to the drill rats. This didn't accomplish much, but at least the drill rats are happy!

Chapter 3

In the stockroom Laura is trapped in, you will find sawdust on the right side of the room. As soon as you gain control of her, pick up some sawdust and use it with the box of drill rats to unlock this trophy. This must be done before you get the cargo crate on screen, as once you do, using the sawdust on the drill rats will cause them to drill air holes in the crate, completely closing your window to unlock this trophy.

26Sc23357.png Return to sender :bronze
Bravo! You're a reliable person! Screwdriver, syringe, stapler - no matter what you borrowed, you always return it.

This is a game-spanning trophy, but only across three chapters. Thankfully, all the inventory items that count in this trophy are listed in the description. In sum:

  • Chapter 1: Return the screwdriver to Molly after you use it to remove the dead weight from the cable car.

  • Chapter 3: Return the syringe to the first aid kit after you use it to doctor the juice box

  • Chapter 6: Return the stapler to the Adventurer's tent after using it to help launch the sneezing powder

10Sfa50f6.png Casual-Gamer :bronze
Until now, you’ve been using the help system quite often. You’re a casual-gamer for sure! But hey, the main point is, you’re having fun! And you get one point for being casual. Congrats!

Do this in a new game. Use the hint system (L2) as often as possible. Exhaust the hint system, then do an action in-game and see if there are new hints to unlock. This should unlock early in Chapter 1.

11Se7d2db.png One doused root lizard :bronze
Three times you doused the root lizard with water. No wonder he's mad at you! And why isn't his home overflowing?

Chapter 1

On the first screen of the game, Peck can interact with a door in a branch on the top left corner of the screen. Doing so will cause a root lizard to appear. Just above this door is a plant that Peck can peck to send water into the root lizard's house. You will need to do so once for story reasons; doing it three times will net you this trophy.

14S4b0345.png Kick it like Peacham :bronze
You flushed a peach straight in front of the key guard's feet, kicking it right back into your cell.

Chapter 2

Laura can talk to her jailer to order food. Ordering “fruit cocktail” will send a peach into her cell.

Next, use the toilet paper roll and duct tape to repair the toilet pipes. Use the pillow to flood the toilet to break the pipe outside the cell. This is all stuff you need to do for story reasons.

Finally, flush the peach. The pacing guard will kick the peach back into the cell and unlock this trophy. You must do this before flushing the peas.

16Se16601.png Green is not a creative color :bronze
You tried giving the peas to Libretta, so she could use them for painting. But what use could the color green possibly be when painting a cactus?

Chapter 2

Laura can talk to her jailer to order food. Ordering frozen peas will send an ice block of peas into her cell. You can use the knitting needles to break away the ice and leave you with a handful of peas.

Talk to this same guard to learn about his love of cacti – and how much he wants to see the Blue Maurice. Talk to Libretta to learn that she can paint the Blue Maurice if she has art supplies. Give her the peas – she will decline them, and you will unlock this trophy.

This must be done before flushing the peas, as once you have done so, you will no longer be able to get peas.

18S443621.png Negative thinking doesn't pay off :bronze
You fixed the ticket machine, and thanks to the negative cashflow-wiring you even have to pay for the ticket yourself!

Chapter 3

In the stockroom, Laura can find a pair of red buttons next to the ventilation machine. All of the other plugs are in the control panel she needs to fix.

Set up the plugs in the following order, left to right:

First Row: Blue / White / White

Second Row: Brown / Brown / Yellow

Third Row: Blue / Yellow / (nothing)

Fourth Row: (nothing) / Red / Red

Switch to Robert, and have him talk to the ticket machine. He will be told he owes money for a ticket and the trophy will unlock. To actually fix the machine so you can get a ticket, move the middle red plug to the left slot.

20Sdbd318.png Bingo! :bronze
You restored the Bingo Pony's confidence to face life again!

Story related and cannot be missed. To restore Bingo Pony's confidence, you will need to find him the following:

  • Lucky Horseshoe: Found in one of the mystery bags the merchant sells (it's a magnet)

  • New Horn: Use wet clay to mold a new one with Robert's nose cover

  • Bingo Ball: It's in his fur. Brush it out with the fishbones.

  • Silver Mane and Tail: Dye Basylian tail fur silver (Basylian must have the start module installed)

The trophy will unlock after the cutscene of Bingo Pony getting his mojo back.

21Sf83a79.png Boom! :bronze
You sabotaged Mama Dola's ritual with a chili. Bravo! What a fine explosion, indeed! Now make good use of this destructive energy!

Chapter 3

Late in Chapter 3, Mama Dola will perform a ritual to contact Reminepo. To do so, you will need to load the nearby tin can phone with clover, alcohol, and Reminepo's certificate. Before asking Mama Dola to perform the ritual, also add the chili pepper (obtained from the merchant; you'll need to break open the box) and you will unlock this trophy.

22S845c1c.png Raft ride :bronze
You sent a small raft sailing across the swamp. How nice. But now back to saving the world!

Chapter 4

For story reasons, Robert will need to build a raft out of a wooden panel, a small flag, and a blowgun. Before adding the final required item (a hollowed-out book filled with soup), place the empty raft in the pond and play the wind song to send it across the pond and unlock this trophy.

23S75764f.png Monolith :bronze
You solved the puzzle! Let's hope all that flute music didn't cause permanent damage to your ears.

Story related and cannot be missed.

The Monolith puzzle is unnecessarily long, and is solved by Robert playing various songs on his flute nose. Here is the step-by-step solution:

  • Up x5

  • Rotate x2

  • Down x1

  • Rotate x2

  • Up x1

  • Rotate x2

  • Down x3

  • Rotate x2

  • Up x3

  • Rotate x1

  • Down x4

  • Rotate x3

  • Up x4

  • Rotate x3

  • Down x5

  • Rotate x1

24S3e9c29.png Back in bag :bronze
You filled the sneezing powder from its bag into the balloon. And back again. That wasn't very productive - but good to know that this is even possible!

Chapter 5

Early in the chapter, Robert will come into possession of an empty balloon and a bag of sneezing powder. As the trophy suggests, put the sleeping powder into the balloon, then put the sleeping powder back in the bag.

This trophy is a bit touchy but not actually glitched. If it doesn't unlock with “use balloon with empty bag”, then try “use empty bag with balloon” - as in, reverse the order of how you use the items together until the trophy unlocks.

25S792b82.png Story Wizard :bronze
You got Uncle Oboe's adventure story right at the first time! But where's the fun in that?

Chapter 5

Early in the chapter, Uncle Oboe will help Robert unlock a secret passage under the water fountain. To unlock this trophy while doing it, talk to Uncle Oboe and choose Emil / Tunnel under the fountain / Water / Magnet Mountains / Firey Ferdimon.
