Super Skelemania is a metroidvania adventure game where you play as a lost and distraught skeleton who has found himself on a strange planet. Armed with nothing but his skull as a weapon, you’ll need to traverse through the planet to find skills to aid you with escaping. Explore the darkest corners and climb to the tallest ledges and discover all the secrets waiting for you. Only if you’re able to decipher the puzzle of the planet will you then be able to leave.
While only two playthroughs are required for the Platinum, I’m going to split the trophy list into three just to make it easier. It is possible to combine steps 1 and 2 if you don’t want to do a 3rd run, but honestly the game is not that long (maybe an hour or so), so it’s recommended you stick with the 3 listed below. Doing steps 1 and 2 separately will also help you familiarize yourself with the game and the map layouts, which will make the Speedrun for Step 3 easier.
Step 1: Play through the game, collecting everything
For this step, you want to leave nothing behind. Collect all the Maps and Life Up Skills while also locating the secret room. Since you’re not on a time crunch, make sure you also save at one of the Save Bells scattered throughout the game. The Gongs and Skills are all Story Related so your main focus will be on making sure you don’t miss anything outside of those. If you do, everything can still be picked up after you complete the game by hitting “play” from the Main Menu (it’ll start you back at your previous autosave). There is a good area in the Emerald Mines for you to get Home run!, so please see that trophy for more info on knocking out an enemy. Don’t worry about getting the Human Skin for Worthy of skin on this run, as it requires a lot of back and forth traveling to ring the Gongs in a certain order, so just do that on your second playthrough. If you’re having trouble with the Frog Boss, please see Dash Get! and if you’re having trouble with the final boss, please see On to the next adventure!. Once you have completed the game, you will have earned the following (the order will vary from person to person, so these are just listed by trophy value, not the order they will unlock):
On to the next adventure!
Saved by the Bell
Ground Pound Get!
A Sound in the Jungle
A Sound in the Sanctum
A Sound in the Oak
A Sound in the Mines
A Sound in the Dark
Who put a door in here?
Step 2: Human Skin
Now that you’ve played through the game once, you should have an idea of where the Skills and Gongs are. Nothing else is needed for this trophy, so don’t worry about any Maps, Life Up Skulls, etc. Depending on how much exploring you did in Step 1, you may or may not have read the books inside the secret room required for Who put a door in here?. These books attach a letter to each of the Gongs. You need to ring them in order so they spell H-U-M-A-N. If you didn’t read the books, all good, their order is provided under this trophy description. Doing the Gongs in the correct order will require a lot of back and forth traveling, which is why it’s recommended you do this separately. Once the Gongs are all rang in the correct order, you’ll need to retrieve the Skin Orb from a somewhat hidden room in the Red Jungle (the location is provided under the trophy description as well). Once you have picked up the skin, you will earn:
Worthy of Skin
Step 3: Speedruns
Luckily, all 3 Speedrun trophies will unlock at the same time so long as you complete the game in under 17 minutes. A video for the route you need to take has been provided under On the way to the World Record. You’ll want to take massive advantage of the autosave system in the game to get under 17 minutes, so please see that same trophy for tips on how to properly use this feature to your advantage. Once you have completed the game in under 17 minutes, you will have earned:
On the way to the World Record
