Introduction:
Super Night Riders is a very similar take on the old 1987 game "Super Hang-on". The game revolves around you getting through checkpoints and finishing the course in the time limit with each time you pass one of the checkpoints you will receive extra time - however if the timer runs out, Game over!

The game itself is pretty simple with there really only 3 controls you will use to play (these can be found below). Having said that it can get really frustrating due to lack of detail in the design of the surroundings and how well some of the coloured riders blend into the background. This can cause problems especially with time of day and different stages being thrown into the mix.

Regardless, for the most part this is an easy platinum with the only real problem being :gold Clear Course 1-6. Even with the frustration which was that trophy, the game only took me 3 hours and 2 minutes to platinum.

Good luck!

Controls:
:Leftstick - Steering (ingame), Menu selection
:cross / :r2 - Accelerate (ingame), Confirm (menu)
:circle / :l2 - Break
:l1 / :r1 - Change Music (can be used for :bronze Mélomane)
:start / :triangle - Pause

Note: You can choose either 'Super' or 'Classic' visual options before you start the game. This will not effect trophies and progress is shared between the two. Personally, I played 'Classic'

Roadmap:

Step 1: Clear all Stages
In this step you will clear all the stages. Stages are the different locations the game offers. You will have to ride through the same location from Day - Dawn (6 checkpoints). While needing it for the trophies, this will also benefit you by learning how each stage works and finding little patterns here and there.
At the end of Step 1 you will have received:

:bronze Hang on!
:bronze Mélomane
:bronze 1st Stage Cleared
:bronze Forest Stage Cleared
:silver Desert Stage Cleared
:silver City Stage Cleared
:gold Canyon Stage Cleared
:gold Valley Stage Cleared
:gold Hanami Stage Cleared
:gold Max Score
:gold Hang On and Pass!

Step 2: Clear all Courses
During step 2 you will clear all of the courses. These again will consist of six stages with different time of day effects. However, these will be a combination of all six stages you just completed.
At the end of Step 2 you will have received:
:bronze Course 1 Cleared
:silver Course 2 Cleared
:silver Course 3 Cleared
:gold Course 4 Cleared
:gold Course 5 Cleared
:gold Course 6 Cleared

Step 3: Clear Course 1-6
This step is the whole reason for the 5-6 difficulty rating. During this step you will have to complete the 'Course 1-6' course. This is just how it sounds, Courses 1 through 6 all in one. With the tips I have provided under the trophy and a little bit of practice and luck, you should be able to get this trophy.
At the end of Step 3 you will have received:
:gold Course 1-6 Cleared
:plat All Cleared!

You need to clear all the trophies.

You need to clear the course 1 in normal mode.

For this trophy you will need to complete all 6 checkpoints in the required time limit. This is probably the easiest course of them all.

If you need tips on how to finish within the time limit, refer to  :gold Course 1 to 6 Cleared

You need to clear the course 2 in normal mode.

To unlock this you will need to complete all 6 checkpoints in the required time limit. This course is still quite easy and should give you too much grief.

You need to clear the course 3 in normal mode.

To unlock this you will need to complete all 6 checkpoints in the required time limit. This course is quite simple and shouldn't prove to much of a challenge.

You need to clear the course 4 in normal mode.

To unlock this you will need to complete all 6 checkpoints in the required time limit. This is where the courses start getting a bit tricky. I found with the next couple of courses that there are more enemy riders, so do be careful of this.

You need to clear the course 5 in normal mode.

To unlock this you will need to complete all 6 checkpoints in the required time limit. This course still shouldn't give you many problems. However, I did notice with this course in particular, when going around most corners, there are usually enemies on the inner, middle and outer parts of the road, so watch out for this.

You need to clear the course 6 in normal mode.

To unlock this you will need to complete all 6 checkpoints in the required time limit. This is actually the hardest course out of them all (with the exception of 1-6). This course requires you to be flawless I found during my run that this course didn't allow any mistakes. You could possibly go off of the track for half a second, but anymore than that will most likely require a restart.

You need to clear the course 1 to 6 in normal mode.

This is the whole reason this game isn't a 3/10. This is a very stress inducing trophy as you can make a a MAXIMUM of 2 mistakes, but depending on the severity of the mistake 2 might be too many.
This trophy will require you to go through all 6 courses' checkpoints at once (hence 1-6). This will take in the ballpark of 15 minutes per run. I cut it close with my run as I made 2 mistakes and I ended with 0.6 seconds remaining.
But I do have one tips from general playing as well as looking online and these are the tips:

- NEVER break. Never hit :l2 or  :circle , instead just release the accelerate button for a second. This will make you float into the inner part of the corner and will save you some time as well as getting you out of the way of enemies much faster than breaking.

- Know the layouts of the Stage's. By this what I mean is that you should know what to look out for in different stages such as:

  • Know that Desert stage has many tight turns. Especially during the last few courses (last 12 checkpoints) the Desert stage has a lot of constant turns.
  • During the Hanami stage Pink Riders & Dark Blue Riders blend in with the background very well. So make sure on these stages, you make more effort to watch out for these riders.

- Enemy Riders positions are set in the same position, this means you can learn where they are to avoid a mistake next time around

- Try to look ahead as best as possible. This will allow you to anticipate upcoming riders and turns you might have to take.

- Use Riders lights. What I mean by this is as soon as the stages go into Sundown and Dusk, the enemy riders turn on their Bike Lights. This helps because in some of the night Stages (City comes to mind straight away), it is impossible to see riders without looking for their lights. But even if you barely make out a driver, this will clearly indicate where a rider is and what they're doing.

- Do note that Pink Riders & Dark Blue Riders come on the left hand side. I considered these guys the hardest to see, so be aware of those positions.

- Even if you mess up, keep going. Don't restart unless it is 100% impossible to finish that checkpoint. The only way to learn is to keep playing, and who knows, maybe the mistake was minor and you complete the trophy.

- Before the time starts, get to max speed. Before the race starts, you will have a black screen with your rider sitting there travelling toward the start line. In this section you have just enough time that can speed up your rider to max speed.

2Se5d05b.png :bronze Forest Stage Cleared
You need to clear the forest stage in normal mode.

To clear the Forest Stage you will need to go through all 6 checkpoints. The difference between Stages and Courses is that you will have the same environment throughout the race but the time of day will change with each checkpoint hit.

One tip I can give for the Forest Stage is to watch out for the Green Riders. These guys will blend in with the grass and trees on the side of the track, these enemies can be slightly problematic.

10Scd8ad0.png :silver Desert Stage Cleared
You need to clear the desert stage in normal mode.

To clear the Desert Stage you will need to go through all 6 checkpoints. The difference between Stages and Courses is that you will have the same environment throughout the race but the time of day will change with each checkpoint hit.

This is the 2nd hardest Stage in the game. The main reason for this is that there are a lot of turns and often they are sharp. This is designed to try and throw you off. If you remain on the track however, you shouldn't have much trouble.

10Scd8ad0.png :silver City Stage Cleared
You need to clear the city stage in normal mode.

To clear the City Stage you will need to go through all 6 checkpoints. The difference between Stages and Courses is that you will have the same environment throughout the race but the time of day will change with each checkpoint hit.

The hardest part of this stage is that I found there are quite a few big and long turns. Some of these can lead to going off the track if you are not taking precautions like letting go of the accelerator when you need to get closer to the inside of the track.

8S958983.png :gold Canyon Stage Cleared
You need to clear the canyon stage in normal mode.

To clear the Canyon Stage you will need to go through all 6 checkpoints. The difference between Stages and Courses is that you will have the same environment throughout the race but the time of day will change with each checkpoint hit.

On Canyon I didn't have much trouble with at all. No riders really blend in here or anything like that. Just focus on those long turns.

8S958983.png :gold Valley Stage Cleared
You need to clear the valley stage in normal mode.

To clear the Valley Stage you will need to go through all 6 checkpoints. The difference between Stages and Courses is that you will have the same environment throughout the race but the time of day will change with each checkpoint hit.

I actually didn't have much trouble on Valley. This is one of the easier ones.

8S958983.png :gold Hanami Stage Cleared
You need to clear the hanami stage in normal mode.

To clear the Hanami Stage you will need to go through all 6 checkpoints. The difference between Stages and Courses is that you will have the same environment throughout the race but the time of day will change with each checkpoint hit.

In this Stage watch out for Pink Riders. The reason being that in Hanami Stage with all the Cherry Blossom leaves floating everywhere as well as the sides of the track being littered with Cherry Blossoms, these riders become really hard to see, so be cautious.

2Se5d05b.png :bronze 1st Stage Cleared
You need to reach your first checkpoint.

This cannot be missed. All you need to do is hit one checkpoint.

2Se5d05b.png :bronze Mélomane
You need to check out all the music tracks.

There are 6 song selections in Super Night Riders and you will get a selection before you start each race as well as 'Random'. All you have to do is listen to all 6.
If you want to unlock this trophy early on, you can select the first one and then as soon as it plays for a second or two, press :l1 or :r1 to switch to the next one.

2Se5d05b.png :bronze Hang On!
You need to keep trying after a game over.

At a "Game Over!" screen, simply press "Restart".

8S958983.png :gold Hang On and Pass!
You need to keep trying and pass the stage you previously failed on.

You will almost definitely get this on your way to platinum. To get this all you need to do is finish any Course or Stage which you failed on previously.
This trophy is missable if you finish every track 1st time around, however, this is very unlikely.

8S958983.png :gold Max Score
You need to get a score of 75K in one second.

This will come through natural progression. The way you points is by driving, the more speed you have, the more point you will accumulate. The max speed on Super Night Riders is 315 km/h and at this speed you will receive 50,000 points as shown.
pLGoJ5N.jpg
However, going at a lower speed you will get less points as shown.
Oe1qyL1.jpg
So going at max speed, you will receive 75k in a single second multiple times over throughout the course of the game.

2Se5d05b.png :bronze That was Close!

You need to pass near a rival without crashing.

This will come naturally as when trying to beat any of the stages, passing one of the rival riders without touching them is necessary. You don't have to have a 'Near Miss', just simply drive past them will unlock this.

Guide looks great well done Nitro.

Perfect guide, thanks
