Nightmares from the Deep 3: Davy Jones ~ Trophy Walkthrough


As with all of these games, never ever ever press up on the D-Pad. You will void trophies if you do so.

 

Skipping cutscenes/dialogue by holding down Circle is okay

 

I've listed the animals that have been documented in the steam collectibles guide, but I've also listed some other animals I came across that you may also want to interact with, just in case. I just didn't give them official “x/y” numbers. By interacting with these “just in case” animals, I unlocked the related trophy earlier than the steam collectibles guide indicates I should have, so there's some wiggle room here.

 

The bonus chapter you unlock at the end of the game is unnecessary. You also cannot unlock the “play mahjong instead of HO puzzles” trophy in it (besides, I give you a faster method for it in this guide).

MAKE A SAVE BACKUP. This is a great HO scene to get most of the HO-related trophies, since it's always the same. You may have to play it twice to get all of them, though, so play through and reload your save backup to get the HO trophies you didn't the first time.

 

There are two pictures here - the first picture shows where you need to click to reveal some of the hidden items for collection. The second shows where all of the items actually are. I recommend revealing the items, then blitzing through and collecting them all with the second picture.

Thankfully, these rings move independently of each other. Press X until the center ring is selected, then rotate it until the C-shaped one is on the bottom right. Notice that this also aligns it with the background stars and lights up all of the points in the center ring. So do like that with the other two rings.

Label the slots left to right 1-6. Ultimately, 1-2-3 needs to be a mirror image of 4-5-6. You can always press Square to see what the lock picture looks like.

Solution: 6 until centered / 4 until the “tunnel” with the upside down L on top of it is parallel to 6's square / 5 until it aligns with 4 and 6 (you might need to tweak 6's positioning to get it to line up) – make sure the bottom is a square and not a square with another pathway coming off of it / 3 until it lines up with 4 (it should be a mirror image of 4 – 3 and 4 should kind of look like bull horns) / adjust 1 and 2 until they line up (again, the bottom should be a square, not a square with another pathway).

Load your mahjong backup save and follow the walkthrough from there. Whenever you get to a HO puzzle, press down on the D-Pad to play Mahjong instead. You don't have to worry about using hints, etc, as long as you don't outright skip the puzzle.
