Introduction:

Good Dog, Bad Dog is a VR game where you become a dog and get to do different dog things. It can be very buggy. The general idea is that you get 15 minutes to do as many good or bad things as you want. Then you get scored on how you did.

Controls:
:l1 - teleport movement
:l2 - shake, hold to dig when at a dig spot
:r1 - lay down
(only on the pillow in the bedroom to save)
:r2 - bite, eat, drink
 - bark
:down - sit, rest
 :down while holding :l2 at a dig spot - dig
:left :right - wag tail, this is how you tell the owner you want to go on a walk
:triangle - poop
:square - pee
:circle - fart
:cross - jump, spam it while running to break leash
:l3 - run

Road Map:

Each playthrough is only 15 minutes so unless you have everything optimally planned out and don't run into any glitches you will likely need many playthroughs to get everything. The only trophies you have to do within a 15 minute window are the karma trophies for each dog and the 10,000 point karma trophies. Everything else is cumulative though a couple seem to need to be done in the same play session.

A recommended route would be to do any karma session and try to find all the collectibles on the way. If doing a good run try and do a good interaction with everyone you come across. During the next karma session do the same but try and do the opposite interaction type with everyone you come across. Try and keep track of who you've interacted with and what type of bad interaction. If you can try to at least bark at and bite everyone while doing a bad interaction. If you can manage to poop, pee, fart and vomit on them as well, that's a bonus. Just keep track of it. Then switch to the other dog gender and owner gender (you need to bite the other owner at some point) and repeat the interactions and karma runs. This time during your good and bad runs go for the 10k points. The guide will have the easiest ways to optimize points for this. Make sure to bite the cats and the opposite owner to finish the biting trophy as well. Now you can go to whatever save you have the collectibles in and clean up the rest of the trophies.

Trophy Guide:

Most of the issues with people glitching out or ending up behind the houses should be fixed in the latest patch. There still are some issues with actions not always registering on a person. The other owner, the other dog, and the dog catcher are not supposed to be needed but I had multiple trophies pop with the dog catcher. It seems like the game is incorrectly granting credit based on other characters in the vicinity. For anything that isn't popping just keep trying and it should pop eventually.

Did My Business!:bronze

Went to the bathroom outside.

This will come naturally while working on other trophies. Just poop or pee outside.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Dog!:silver

Have a good encounter with all the people outside.

Buggy

Go up to every adult and child and have a good encounter with them. There aren't many options to choose from and sitting seems to be the easiest one. You will want to wait until the person starts petting you and then sit. This trophy is cumulative and doesn't need to be done in a single karma session. The dog catcher should not be needed but some of my trophies did unlock with the dog catcher somehow. To get a good action to register for him you need to time it so you are back on leash near him. As he runs away you can sit to trigger a good interaction. See the map for everyone's location.

Neighborhood Menace:silver

Have a bad encounter with all the people outside.

Buggy

Go up to every adult and child and have a bad encounter with them. Barking at them or biting them is the easiest. You will get this naturally when going for all the do bad things in front of people trophies. This trophy is cumulative and doesn't need to be done in a single karma session. The dog catcher should not be needed but some of my trophies did unlock with the dog catcher somehow. See the map for everyone's location.

Hoarder:silver

Collect all the items in the game.

There are 6 toys that need to be found in total; a ball, rope, pig, beagle, monkey, and cheeseburger.

The ball is already in your backyard. The rest of the toys are found in dig spots throughout the neighborhood. A butterfly is always floating above each spot. Once you find a toy it will no longer be buried and will spawn in your doghouse from then on. See the map for locations.

Kid Friendly :bronze

Have a good encounter with all the kids in the game.

Buggy

You will get this naturally when going for Your Friendly Neighborhood Dog!. There are four kids in the neighborhood that always appear in pairs. See the map for their location. Go up to every child and have a good encounter with them. There aren't many options to choose from and sitting seems to be the easiest one. You will want to wait until the child starts petting you and then sit. This trophy is cumulative and doesn't need to be done in a single karma session.

Get the Kids Inside! -  :bronze

Have a bad encounter with all the kids in the game.

Buggy

You will get this naturally when going for Neighborhood Menace and all the other do bad stuff in front of people trophies. There are four kids in the neighborhood that always appear in pairs. See the map for their location. Go up to every child and have a bad encounter with them. Barking at them or biting them is the easiest. This trophy is cumulative and doesn't need to be done in a single karma session.

I Can Taste It Twice :bronze

Vomit for the first time.

Once you eat enough food you will vomit. This will come naturally on your way to getting That color looks good on you.

FREEDOM! - :bronze

Break the leash for the first time.

Whenever you leave your house your owner puts you on a leash. To break the leash you need to run away from your owner and press jump 3 times. It doesn't always seem to register right so just keep spamming jump. An easier way to break your leash is to go to the dog park and wait for your owner to remove the leash, then just run out of the park.

WHO LET THE DOGS OUT? WOOF! :bronze

Get caught by the dog catcher.

Any time you are outside of your house or the dog park and are off leash the dog catcher will eventually spawn and come after you. You will likely get this naturally trying to get any of the bad encounters with every character as he will often catch you when you get near to him.

Double Rainbow:silver

Eat all the mushrooms in the neighborhood.

Buggy

There are 49 mushrooms to eat. You will need to eat all of them during the same play session and saving will reset them. You will find mushrooms, usually in groups of 3, in most yards. See the map for locations.

This trophy is buggy because the mushrooms don't always spawn, especially after resetting them with a save. If they don't spawn it doesn't seem to affect the trophy. They always spawn in clusters so if you don't see the same number as the map shows you will probably be fine. The map shows the most common number in a cluster when they don't bug out.

i88mM2f.png

Bug Eater :silver

Eat all the butterflies in the neighborhood.

There are 8 butterflies to eat. Butterflies show where dig spots are so you can get this along with Hoarder to save time. Once you eat a butterfly during that play session they will not respawn. Saving does not seem to respawn them either. Sometimes they will fly up high or will fly through walls, just wait until they come back to eat them.

Good Girl! :bronze

Play through one Karma session with Good Karma as a female dog.

All you need to do have a karma session end when you have positive points as a female dog. It doesn't matter how many. All four of these trophies are mutually exclusive but a single karma session only takes 15 minutes.

Bad Girl!:bronze

Play through one Karma session with Bad Karma as a female dog.

All you need to do have a karma session end when you have negative points as a female dog. It doesn't matter how many. All four of these trophies are mutually exclusive but a single karma session only takes 15 minutes.

Play through one Karma session with Good Karma as a male dog.

True Retriever:gold

Play fetch with all the toys that can be collected in the game.

There are 6 toys to be collected (see Hoarder and the map for the full list and locations). Once you find all the toys for Hoarder they will respawn in your doghouse. Use each one to play fetch with your owner. Once that's done there is another toy that is found in the dog park. This one is unique and has to also be used in a game of fetch.

goKxqso.png

Who's a Good Dog? I'm a Good Dog!:gold

Gain 10,000 points in a single Karma session.

Every time you do something good you get positive points. If you repeat the same good action without any other action in between the points per action increase from 50 to eventually max out at 250. The easiest way I've found to do this is playing fetch over and over. As soon as you start the game head out to the back yard and grab a toy. Bring it to your owner and proceed to play fetch over and over again. Be careful to only play fetch. Any other action you do will reset the points back to 50. Don't sit, bark, shake, or anything else. Just keep fetching the toy and bring it back. It shouldn't take the whole 15 minutes to get to 10k but it does take longer than getting 10k bad karma.

Note - the latest patch nerfs the scoring when you do the same activity over and over and tries to encourage varying your activities. You won't get as many points as before using the method above but it's still good enough to get to 10k.

02ylqZ1.png

Bad to the Bone!:gold

Get -10,000 points in a single Karma session.

Every time you do something bad you get negative points. If you repeat the same bad action without any other action in between the points per action increase from 50 to eventually max out at 250. It's best to immediately start negative actions when you begin the game. It's not very hard to hit 10k bad karma points so no need for the entire 15 minutes unless you are trying for the leaderboards. Head over to the dog park and wait until your owner removes the leash. Just barely leave the park (the broken leash icon will appear) and then move back and forth, in and out of the park. Use the line on the sidewalk in the park to tell how far you have enter the park before backing out again. Your owner will occasionally get you back on leash but if you walk up to the line on the sidewalk they will immediately take you off leash again.

Note - the latest patch nerfs the scoring when you do the same activity over and over and tries to encourage varying your activities. You won't get as many points as before using the method above but it's still good enough to get to 10k.

Biter:gold

Bite every living thing in the game, excluding birds.

Buggy

This trophy is different than the other bad actions one because you have to bite every living thing, not just people. You will need to bite every adult, every child, both cats, and all the butterflies. The dog catcher should not be needed but some of my trophies did unlock with the dog catcher somehow. See the map for locations for everything.

This trophy seems to have the most issues with not registering correctly, even post patch. After discussing it with the dev, he suggests any time there are multiple people in the same area to try and separate them or bite each of them at different times. Just keep repeating on everything until it unlocks. As Dexter Holland says, "Gotta keep 'em separated."

7k6TF2M.png

Yellow is my favorite color:silver

Pee on all the people in the game.

Buggy

This trophy is slightly more tedious to get than the ones for pooping or farting. There are only 3 locations with water in the game, in your kitchen, outside your doghouse, and in the dog park. You have to drink water before you can pee, and it takes 5 minutes before they refresh naturally, so it's best to sleep to reset the water bowls. Walk up to each adult and child and pee in front of them. If done right they will be grossed out and start hopping around to avoid stepping in pee. The trophy is cumulative and does not need to be done in a single karma session. The dog catcher should not be needed but some of my trophies did unlock with the dog catcher somehow.

y77UGnm.png

You stepped in something:silver

Poop near every person in the game.

Buggy

Like with peeing, you cannot poop on command. You have to eat something first and eating poop won't count. Luckily there is food everywhere. Walk up to each adult and child and poop in front of them. If done right they will be grossed out and start hopping around to avoid stepping in poop. The trophy is cumulative and does not need to be done in a single karma session. The dog catcher should not be needed but some of my trophies did unlock with the dog catcher somehow.

UCgTlfr.png

Gasser:silver

Fart near every person so they wrinkle their nose.

Buggy

Similar to pooping you have to eat something (can't be poop or vomit) before you can fart. Luckily, there is food everywhere. Walk up to each adult and child and fart in front of them. If done right they will be grossed out and make a face when they smell it. The trophy is cumulative and does not need to be done in a single karma session. The dog catcher should not be needed but some of my trophies did unlock with the dog catcher somehow.

2vYnwn8.png

Barker :bronze

Bark at every person in the game.

Buggy

Walk up to everyone in the neighborhood and bark at them. You will get negative karma points and chastisement from your owner if done right. The dog catcher should not be needed but some of my trophies did unlock with the dog catcher somehow.

JdLDpxj.png

I love the attention:bronze

Get petted 10 times.

Any time you walk up to any adult or child in the neighborhood they will start petting you. You will likely get this naturally while working on other trophies. This trophy is cumulative and doesn't have to be done in a single karma session.

2irpXhH.png

Wanna shake?:bronze

Give paw when asked by owner 10 times.

I rarely ever see the owner asking me to shake. The only time it seems to happen is in the kitchen after eating your food and even then it's random. Do this every time it comes up to save time later. To grind it out just sit by your bowl and wait for you owner to come and ask for it. You can spam shake but it only counts as 1 each time. This trophy is cumulative and doesn't have to be done in a single karma session.

GWC8B0Y.png

No place like home?:bronze

Get caught by the dog catcher 10 times.

Any time your are out of your house or the dog park and are off leash the dog catcher will spawn and come after you. Simply get caught and repeat 10 times. As you work towards getting all the actions in front of people trophies you'll likely get close to this naturally. When grinding it out it can be a pain to stay away from your owner long enough to get caught. I found the best way was to go to the park and wait until the owner wants to play fetch. Then run left as you leave the park towards the blue house. The dog catcher spawns in the driveway and you can run right to him.

Your food tastes better:bronze

Eat the owner's food 10 times.

The owner's food is the one random food item sitting on the kitchen table. Since you need to break the plates for Do you have insurance? you might as well get both trophies at the same time. The count is cumulative and you don't need to do it in the same play session. If you go to sleep to save it resets so you can grind it out this way.

IpQ2KNf.png

Do you have insurance? :bronze

Break everything in the house that can be broken 10 times.

Buggy

There are only 7 objects you can break in the house:

1 - vase in the hall

2 - vase behind the front door

3 - vase in the kitchen

4-7 - the four plates on the kitchen table

You have to break all items for it to count and then repeat 10 times. The easiest way to break an item is to knock it to the floor. Sometimes things break just by walking on the item or using teleport on the item. The vase by the door is buggy and sometimes gets stuck in the wall or falls behind the shelf but doesn't break. If it's stuck in the wall you can keep jumping or running into it until it breaks. If it falls behind and doesn't break you can't break it anymore and need to try again. Sleeping to save resets the items, so the optimal route is to break them in the order I listed above and then sleep and repeat. The count is cumulative and you don't need to do it in the same play session. The food item you need to eat for Your food tastes better is on the kitchen table so you might as well do both trophies at the same time.

That color looks good on you:gold

Vomit on every person in the neighborhood.

Buggy

This is the worst of the bad action trophies to get. If you eat enough items (5-6) you will automatically vomit on the spot. If you eat a treat or dog food it will reset your vomit level. What you need to do is eat enough items right up until the next one will cause you to vomit (your screen will border green). Then go up to each person in town and eat the final item in front of them. If there is no food nearby you can always poop and then eat it as your final item. Sometimes they don't react and it may not count. I found the best method is to keep eating your own vomit in front of them until they hop around grossed out. If you spam eat fast enough you can keep vomiting over and over. The dog catcher should not be needed but some of my trophies did unlock with the dog catcher somehow.

XENtrA9.png

Looking good! :bronze

Stare at the mirror for 1 minute.

There's a mirror in your doghouse. Just look at it for a minute straight. I don't think the timer is cumulative but it's only a minute so you may as well do this in one go.

Yrlm05L.png

Lone Wolf:bronze

Break the leash 10 times.

See FREEDOM! for more information about how to break the leash. This trophy is cumulative and can be done at any time. You will likely get this naturally and the easiest way to get 10k negative karma is to break the leash over and over again at the dog park. See Bad to the Bone! for more information on that technique.

Map:

9VtiTLg.png

People:

The kids and the couples will always appear in the same spot.

The lady in green walks around in the left area and the guy in brown walks around in the right area.

The mailman wanders the entire neighborhood and often glitches and gets stuck in the path behind the houses.

The dog walker and his dog takes the form of the opposite gender dog and owner. He walks the entire neighborhood and also plays in the park.

The dog catcher will spawn only when you are off leash and usually shows up near the area you leave the leash.

Cats:

One cat spawns on each end of the neighborhood and they both wander around on their respective sides. Sometimes they do not spawn or glitch out and can't be found.

Mushrooms:

Each mushroom location except the one marked with a 4 spawns with 3 mushrooms. Sometimes they glitch and don't all spawn. This shouldn't affect the trophy though.

Butterflies and Dig spots:

Each dig spot has a butterfly flying overhead. Two of them have treats and the rest have a dog toy.

Path:

The path marked by the arrow is the only way to get behind those houses.

Park:

The dog park has a special dig spot with a toy that you need to play with for True Retriever. You are allowed to be off leash in the park without the dog catcher coming after you. There is also a water bowl in the park.

Just FYI, working with the dev on some of the bugs and he mentioned the dog catcher is not needed for the non-dog catcher trophies. I will do more testing and work with him for clarification.

Thanks for this guide sef.

Thx, for the guide.

took me over 2 hours for pee and vomit trophy.

A new patch just came down that should fix a lot of the bugs and changes the point system. I will need to take a look and see how those point changes affect the guide. I'm pretty sure the negative karma technique was nerfed.

The point nerfs don't affect the trophies. You won't get as high a score anymore but the trophies are still obtainable as written in the guide. Some of the bugginess with the people seems to be fixed now but I'm getting reports the biter trophy isn't popping. Working to confirm with the dev.
