Introduction:


Esper is a simple VR game that explores your telekinetic abilities through a series of object puzzles.


Road Map:


Esper is simple enough to play without help and then cleanup through level select after. If you do get stumped I have provided a general walkthrough for each level.

Finish The Game - :gold

Play through the entire game story.

 

After defeating the tennis robot the wall will start to collapse in on you.  Turn around and grab the filing cabinet.  Place it between the walls to keep them from crushing you.

Defeat The Boss - :gold

Defeat the tennis robot boss.

 

I'm not sure this boss can even kill you.  Keep an eye on the angle of his ball launcher and grab a ball out of the air when he shoots.  If you are struggling with this you can always pick them out of the pool or off the ground (thanks DIM10 for the tip).  Throw the ball back ( :r2) into the large panel on the front.  This knocks the panel off and exposes some gears.  Catch and throw another ball into the gears to bust off the cage protecting the top.  At this point you can drop a ball into the top for I'm Helping.  Now slide the safe up the ramp on the right into the top.  This will destroy the robot.  Make sure to get hit 10 times by tennis balls for I'm Fine With This before fully destroying the robot.

Hit Yourself In The Face - :silver

Drop a held object on to your head.

 

At any time during the game pick up an object and drop it on your head.

No Fool - :gold

Move the cube around the wall without hitting it in the first chapter.

 

In level 1:2 a wall is placed in the center of the room.  Use  :Leftstick to move the cube towards you before moving it to the right and into the receiver so that it never touches the wall.

Smash The Glass Cube - :gold

Smash the glass cube on the floor instead of putting in the receiver.

 

In level 2:2 after you free the glass paperweight you will be asked to return it to the goal.  Instead, knock it to the floor.

Can't Do A Thing - :bronze

Drop an object into the pit in the third chapter.

Put a tennis ball back into the tennis robot.

Grabbing Through Glass - :gold

Gain the grabbing through glass ability.

 

Story related.  In level 2:1 you are told you can't grab items behind glass.  An electrical pulse occurs and you are granted the ability to grab behind glass.

Grabbing Safe - :gold

Gain the safe grabbing ability.

 

Similar to Grabbing Through Glass you initially cannot grab the safe.  Then another electrical pulse occurs and you find yourself able to after all.  This happens in level 5:1.

Bullseye - :silver

Knock down the rectangular object in the background in the fourth chapter.

 

I'm pretty sure this is story related and have no idea why it's in level 5:2. In the back right is a sign with a target on it.  Throw the cube ( :r2) over the puzzle and into the sign.

Can't Do A Thing Perfected - :silver

Drop all objects into the pit in the third chapter.

 

In level 3:4 you will be given 2 boxes.  Push the cube with the small box into the hole to the right and then drop both boxes down it.

I'm Fine With This - :bronze

Get hit by 10 tennis balls that the machine fires at you.

Practice Throw - :bronze

Miss the throw target in the first chapter.

 

In level 1:4 you are tested to see how well you can throw the cube.  Throw ( :r2) it anywhere that isn't the target.

Walkthrough:

 

At any time pick up an object and drop it on your face for Hit Yourself In The Face :silver

 

1:1 - Move the cube into the receiver on the left.

 

1:2 - Move the cube towards you with  :Leftstick and then move it to the receiver.  Avoiding hitting the wall will unlock the No Fool  :gold trophy.

 

1:3 - Wait until the wall on the right moves up to grab the cube and quickly move it to the middle.  Then wait for the wall on the left to move up and give you access to the receiver.

 

1:4 - First use :r2 and purposefully miss the target to get Practice Throw :bronze. Then throw the cube into the target in the back of the room.

 

Complete Chapter 1  :silver

 

2:1 - After some talking you gain the power to grab items through glass and will unlock Grabbing Through Glass  :gold.  Maneuver the ball through the tube to the receiver.

 

2:2 - Use the ball to push the glass paperweight out of the tubes.  Instead of returning the paperweight to the receiver push it off the desk for Smash The Glass Cube  :gold.  Then place the ball into the receiver.

 

2:3 - Maneuver the ball through the tubes to the receiver.  Take the top path and catch it when it drops.  Then move it to the right, up and then around.

 

2:4 - Push the first glass ball up and all the way to the left.  Once it drops to the bottom area put it in the first receiver.  Then, as in the previous puzzle go up left until the T junction and catch the ball as it drops through.  The push the second ball forward, up and around to the right and then back left again until it gets to the second receiver.  Remove the ball from the tubes and pit it into the receiver on the desk.

 

Complete Chapter 2  :silver

 
3:1 - Raiser the ball over the frosted glass and drop it so it rolls down the ramp pushing the cube out.  Put the ball in the left receiver and the cube into the right one.
 
3:2 - Take the file folders from the file cabinet and drop them into the right side of the puzzle to form a ramp.  Drop the 8 ball onto the folder ramp and it will push out the cube.  Place the cube into the receiver on the right and the bal into the left one.
 
3:3 - When the center arm lowers, put the cube on it.  Drop the folders on the left side of the puzzle.  Drop the ball on to the folders and it will roll all the way into the receiver.  Then remove the cube when the arm lowers and put it into the left receiver.
 
3:4 - Before solving this, drop the cube (use the small box to push it) and both boxes into the hole on the right for Can't Do A Thing  :bronze and Can't Do A Thing Perfected :silver.  Press the reset button on the desk to get them back.  To solve put the long box on the ramp to the far right so it blocks the hole.  Use the small box to knock the cube down.  Place the small box on the left ledge and the cube on top of it.  Use the long box to push them both past the frosted glass.  Grab the cube and put it on the receiver.
 
Complete Chapter 3  :silver
 
4:1 - Flipping the switch to the left launches the ball.  Catch it when it's above the frosted glass and set it on the lower ledge in the middle.  Flip the switch back to the right to move the ball into the center column.  Grab it and move it to the ledge up and to the right.  Flip the switch back to the left to drop the ball.  Catch it quickly and move it to the receiver.
 
4:2 - Move one cube to the left ledge.  Flip the switch to the left.  The cube will drop into the next section.  Move the remaining cube to the right ledge and flip the switch back to the right.
 
Put a cube on the right ledge all the way against the wall.  Put the second cube on top of the first. Flip the switch to the left.  This may take a few tries as the physics are iffy sometimes.  Alternatively you can try and grab the cube mid flight and place it where you need (thanks DIM10 for the tip).  Make sure the left cube dropped all the way in.  Now flip the switch back to the right.
 
Place one cube on the ledge to the left and the other on the ledge to the right.  Flip the switch to the left and immediately grab the right side cube before it falls.  Place it into the now open slot on the right and flip the switch back to the right.
 
4:3 - Flip the left switch towards you.  Flip the right switch towards you.  Flip the left switch back and then the right switch back.  Flip the left switch towards you again and then the right switch.  Now flip the left switch towards you.  The cube should be in the middle where you can grab it.  Grab it and put it on the desk.  Flip the right switch away from you and drop the cube on to the ledge on the right side.  Now flip the left switch back towards you, followed by the right switch back towards you.  Finally flip the left switch away from you and the the right switch to drop the cube into the receiver.
 
4:4 - Put one cube in the lower middle section and the other in the top middle.  Flip the left switch to the left and then the right switch to the left.  The top cube should be pushed and slide on and past the lower cube.  As before, the physics are a little iffy and it can get stuck (took me 4+ tries).  Once it is in the slot past the bottom cube flip the left switch back to the right and then the right switch back to the right.  Flip the left switch to the left to push the left cube into the receiver.  Set both switches to the right to reset the positions and take the remaining cube from the middle section and drop it into the top.  Flip the right switch to the left and then back to the right.  Then flip the left switch to the left to push the cube into the receiver.
 
Complete Chapter 4  :gold
 
5:1 - After some talking you will get the ability to move the safe and Grabbing Safe  :gold.  Put the cube on the moving platform in the middle.  Slide the safe around the ramp and on to the cube.  Then slide it into the receiver when the platform moves up.  Place the cube into the receiver on the right.
 
5:2 - Slide the safe onto the platform in the bottom left and use the switch to push it up into the air.  Quickly slide it all the way to the right so that it stays up in the top section.  Now slide it quickly back left until it's on left section of the first panel.  This will drop the left side of that panel and create an opening for the cube.  Drop the cube into that opening.  Now place the cube under the left section of the lower right panel.  This will prevent that from dropping the safe.  Drag the safe back to the right and then slowly to the left to drop it into the lower section.  With the cube blocking the panel you can now drag the safe to the right and into the receiver.  Drag the cube to the left and out of the puzzle and put it in the remaining receiver.
 
5:3 - This level and the next have some of the most inconsistent physics in the game.  It may take a few tries to get things to work.  Start by lifting the cube over the frosted glass and throwing it into the target box in the back right for Bullseye  :silver.  There are 2 ways to get the cube to the receiver:
 
1 - You can "throw" the cube up and to the left by releasing it as you move in the direction you want it to go (instead of the  :r2 throw).  Catch it above the frosted glass and move it onto the receiver.
 
2 - Alternatively you are meant to put the target box on the left platform.  Place it where the right side rests against the nubs and it makes a teeter-totter.  Flip the switch to the left to raise the safe.  Now quickly slide the safe to the right so that it lands on the left side of the teeter-totter and launches the cube.  Catch the cube while it is above the frosted glass and move it to the receiver.
 
Flip the switch to the right and place the safe back on it.  Flip the switch to the left to lift the safe again.  Quickly drag it to the right and onto the left platform.  Flip the switch to the right to move the platforms closer together.  Set the target box to make a bridge between the 2 platforms. Slide the safe across the box to the receiver on the right.  
 
5:4 - Move the ramp to the left so that you can slide the safe onto the ledge. Now you can solve this one of two different ways:
 
1 - Flip the switch to the left and slide the safe against the wall. Place the target box to bridge the top platforms.  You want it just right so that when you flip the switch the box stay on them and creates a ramp to the top right.  The safe will launch at the same time so grab it immediately when it lands on the box and slide it onto the receiver.
 
2 - The safer and intended solution is to now place the target box to bridge the lower platforms. Flip the switch to the left and slide the safe against the wall. Flip the switch back to the right to launch the safe onto the box.  Flip the switch to the left again to make a ramp going up to the left.  Slide the safe left up the ramp onto the far left platform.  Flip the switch to the right one last time.  Now take the ramp and place it on the lower right platform.  This allows you to place the target box on it to make a flat bridge all the way across.  Now slide the safe across it and onto the receiver.
 
Complete Chapter 5  :gold
 
6:1 - Drag the wooden cube to the right and under the middle divider.  When you release it, it will float above the frosted glass.  Then drag it below the receiver on the right and release it to float up.  Grab the stone cube and drag it quickly to the left and release it so it sinks below the frosted glass.  Now drag it to the left above the receiver.  Release it so it sinks onto the receiver.
 
6:2 - Flip the switch down to extend a ledge on the right side.  Place the ramp on that ledge.  Slide the safe all the way to the right and onto the receiver.  Drag the ball to the bottom of the tank and as far left as you can.  Release it to launch it into the air.  Catch it above the frosted glass and move it onto the left receiver.
 
6:3 - Drag the safe above the ball and release it to push the ball below the frosted glass.  Grab the ball and use it to knock out the long box.  Place the long box under the small box and release it to push out the small box where you can grab it.  Place the safe onto the metal grate platform to the left.  Now put both boxes and the ball under that platform to raise it up. Slide the safe into the receiver.  Place the rest of the items under their respective receivers.  The ball goes on the left and the two boxes on the right.
 
6:4 - Pull down the left wall and the center ceiling panel to expose the receiver and the safe.  Place the folders on the left platform in the water to make a ramp.  Slide the safe out of the pool area.  Put the folders next to the wall piece with the receiver and slide the safe onto the wall piece.  Now place the folders up against the receiver and slide the safe into it.  
 
Boss - Let 10 tennis balls hit you for I'm Fine With This  :bronze.  Watch the angle of his tennis ball launcher and catch a tennis ball.  If you are struggling with this you can also pick them out of the pool or off the ground (thanks DIM10 for the tip).  Throw ( :r2) it into his front panel to expose his gears.  Catch another ball and throw it into the exposed gears to bust open the top.  Catch another ball and drop it into the top for I'm Helping :silver.  Now slide the safe up the ramp and into the top to defeat him for Defeat The Boss  :gold.
 
Turn around and grab the file cabinet.  Use it to brace the walls for Finish The Game  :gold and Perfect Test Subject :plat.

The walkthrough may need some vetting but it should be at worst 90% accurate.  Did most of it from memory.  It's also hard to explain some of the puzzles with text.  Hopefully it helps!

2 small tips:

 

for 4.2 Put a cube on the right ledge all the way against the wall.  Put the second cube on top of the first. Flip the switch to the left.

You can catch the cube when its in the air and then place it in the left spot.  This may take a few tries as the physics are iffy sometimes.  Make sure the left cube dropped all the way in.  Now flip the switch back to the right.

 

for the boss battle: you can take the tennisball out the pool, easier then catch it
