DISCLAIMER:

Spoiler

––––––––––––––––––––––––––

There are 2 distinct methods of executing the "vita trick" to enable gamesharing on PS VITA:

Online method (micro-syncing)

This was the first method to be publicized, and involves staying signed in to PSN while you're earning trophies; people typically try to sync after every trophy they earn. I made a video guide illustrating this method, but new info has rendered it obsolete, so I've written out the newer method below.

Offline method (macro-syncing)

This method was innovated from the online method, and although it's more advantageous & streamlined, it's not necessarily the best method (see FAQ below). The key distinction is that this technique syncs all the trophies simultaneously rather than incrementally, and also allows you to earn the trophies entirely offline.

FAQ:

Any cool tips I ought to know?

  • You can backup your save file using PS+.
  • You can earn online trophies using both methods, even subscription-based & region-locked games such as Monster Hunter Frontier Z or Manga Kakeru!
  • The offline method offers a lot more convenience & flexibility – I'll elaborate near the end.

What are the risks of doing this?

  • Flaggable timestamps on either the sharing account or the main account (confirmed)
  • Disciplinary action from Sony (unconfirmed)

How can I avoid disciplinary action?

yeah. the vulnerability that allows this exploit also allows other, more malicious exploits as well apparently, so it could be patched at some point down the line but they'd probably have to remove the Email app altogether. It could happen, but only if this attracts a tonne of negative attention

Say you have an eu account with multiple games to play on your account. Do you need to do this process with each game or wpuld this process be easier with multiple games on one account

Is a bunch of that just initial set up, or do all those steps need to be done every time you switch a sharing account?

I haven't been able to play more than 1 game at a time. When I close the game & try to open a new one, it says I need to activate my system, but when I do that it messes up the glitch (logs out my main).

So for now it looks like you need to reformat the system for every game. Hopefully this changes in the future

See above; from my experience it doesn't let me open games once the glitch is active, but the pioneer MSD claims that sometimes when you close a game it does retain your share account's activation & let you open it (or a new one).

Feel free to give it a shot, but you shouldn't expect it to work, is the main takeaway. But maybe I just have shit luck

Suspension or ban from PSN

incorrect/flaggable time stamps if you're not careful

and if it abruptly gets patched, incomplete games on your profile

I think with the known issue of timestamps out of order, I doubt you would be removed for that

my friend had a breakthrough & discovered a way to play multiple games without repeating any steps at all (and rebooting closed/crashed games)

not gonna make a new video cuz it's just 1 minor change – read the YT video desc. for the full steps  (you basically just don't open PS Store until all steps are finished)

I still didn't try it, but also still do not understand why and how it could mess up with the timestamps of those trophies: you earn the trophy, you check it in trophy app, see the date and time - so then while syncing should be no issue imho. Why it could suddenly be messed up?

So same thing could basically happened during syncing "normal" games? Any proven case?

And correct me if I am wrong: so the whole thing is basically that:

1) trophy app is opened/assigned to your main account,

2) game is opened/assigned while you have actually changed to the "shared" account.

Is that correct?

Yup that's correct; trophy app is assigned to hunting account, but the PS Store is assigned to share account so you can download & play all of its games.

We don't fully understand the cause of timestamp glitches, but my friend experienced it after he waited too long to sync.

He synced at 0 trophies, then his next sync was at 9 trophies, but they didn't all sync. Maybe you need to sync after 1 trophy, to kinda "fix" the other trophies into their relative position? idk

Has anyone on the site experience flagged time stamps that you are aware of?

Do not need a name just curious if anyone has known someone with a bad experience.

I don't off-hand, but the best thing i can tell you is check your profile before you earn the platinum

It seems when there are issues, the trophies stop popping but the platinum still pops at the end.  So if you notice no trophies at some point are synching to your profile, then delete the vita before you earn the plat and start over. This has never happened to me so I am not even sure if what i am saying would work but this is what I do and I have not had any issues.

I am aware of two people, yes. But I have never had a problem with this.

So you could delete this and restart without bad timestamps?  Do not get the deletion before the plat and start over.  You would still have incorrect timestamps, wouldn't you?

the issue seems to be timestamps not appearing, they are not wrong

at some point you will stop earning any timestamps, but for some reason, the platinum will still appear which then makes it look hacked
