Trophy Guide & Road Map

Estimated 100% Difficulty: 2/10
Estimated Time To 100%: 1-2 Hours
Online Trophies: 0

Offline Trophies: 14 (1 :gold, 13 :bronze)

Minimum Number Of Playthroughs Required: 1000 Get On Top Games, Multiple Games Of Others

Do Cheats Affect Trophies?: No cheats known
Does Difficulty Affect Trophies?: No difficulty selection

Glitched Trophies: None
Missable Trophies: None

NOTE: This Game Ideally Requires 3 Controllers For 100% (2 With Sharing/Reassigning Controllers). You Can Use Move Controllers As Well.

Introduction:

Welcome to Sportsfriends!  This multiplayer-centric sports game consists of four mini-games (Johann Sebastian Joust, Super Pole Riders, BaraBariBall, & Hokra) and is a perfect example of why crowd-funding shouldn't exist.  The game is currently available on PS3 & PS4, but unfortunately the trophy lists do not stack.  Fun Fact:  The game Super Pole Riders was created by Bennet Foddy, legendary developer of QWOP.

Road Map:

Step 1.) Play Through Each Game, Getting Trophies For Each - Nothing is missable, so just go through each of the four mini-games and try to achieve the requirements for the trophies.  All the trophies are hidden (except Got On Top), so just consult the list here to know what to go for.  You will likely need 2 controllers for several of the games to even start, so make sure you have at least 2 on at all times.

Step 2.) Change The Date And Time Settings On Your PS3/PS4 - There are 3 trophies that require you to go into the Settings on your PS3/PS4 and change the date to get (July 10th, December 26th, and every day of the week).

Step 3.) Autorun Get On Top for 1000 Victories - Get On Top is a hidden mini-game you can unlock, but thankfully this is a very easy trophy that takes about an hour to auto-run.

Trophies:

1Sf992a2.png Got On Top :gold
Get On Top - First to 1000 victories. Go!

Much easier than it sounds, thankfully this can be autoran with a regular controller.  To unlock the Get On Top game, you have to press the following on the d-pad at the Main Menu: Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, Right, Down, Left, :cross

Once you've unlocked Get On Top, you'll be in a really bad Rock Em Sock Em Robots game combined with QWOP.  The good thing is you can get quick wins by just rubberbanding the left stick to the left and you'll a get win every few seconds.  Just leave this running for around an hour or so and you'll get the trophy.

2S3b5d75.png Backerfriendsforever :bronze
Make it through all the names in the Backers section

Very easy trophy.  At the main menu, select Backers and scroll all the way down to the bottom by using the left stick to go fast.  Trophy will pop once at the end.

3S8884e5.png Boxing-Day Test  :bronze
Super Pole Riders - Play Kalgoorlie on Boxing Day (December 26)

Simple trophy, just play the Kalgoorlie stage on December 26th.  If you want to do this fast, simply change the Date and Time settings on the XMB manually to December 26th and boot up the game.  Trophy will pop right away once you start.

4S2c0956.png Over The Rainbow  :bronze
Super Pole Riders - Complete a match on Rainbow Highway

Probably the most difficult trophy, since you have to launch yourself over the far right wall on the Princeton stage to unlock the Rainbow Highway stage.  This is much easier with a second person helping, but if you can't get help, you can still manage to do it by yourself with two controllers.  Select Super Pole Riders and place one controller on each team with Princeton as the stage.

What you'll want to do, is get on top of the 2nd player's pole and have it fling you up in the air, while grabbing the top of the wall and fling yourself up and over the wall.  When you are set-up, I found I could push up on the right stick on the second controller by using my right little finger to fling the 1st player up.  It takes a bit of practice, but you can get it with persistence.  After you've gotten over the wall, simply complete the match and you'll get the trophy.  You'll also unlock the Rainbow Highway stage permanently once you've done this once.

Below is a video showing how this is done, credit to Michael Scholz on YouTube:

5S51f3a5.png Overcoming The Odds  :bronze
Super Pole Riders - Win a match with maximum "luck" handicap

Easy trophy and I suggest doing this with 2 controllers.  At the character selection screen, hold :triangle & :square, then press :r1 to increase luck and :r2 to decrease luck.  You will want your character to be at -9 luck and the 2nd player to be at +9 luck.  Simply win the match to unlock the trophy.

6S8d93fe.png Musicfriends  :bronze
J.S. Joust - Start a game with the secret Sportsfriends music option

Easy trophy, but keep in mind this game is designed to be played with the Move controller. Make sure you have the box checked next to regular controller in the option for the game to start (you will need 2 controllers to play this).

To unlock the secret Sportsfriends music option, simply go into Options and scroll down to the bottom and enter in the code: 2014

Keep in mind, you'll need to restore defaults if you already have a code in this area.

7S16cfa7.png He'll Be Bach  :bronze
J.S. Joust - Unlock secret options menu

Easy trophy, but keep in mind this game is designed to be played with the Move controller.  Make sure you have the box checked next to regular controller in the option for the game to start (you will need 2 controllers to play this).

To unlock the secret options menu, simply go into Options and scroll down to the bottom and enter in the code: 1685

Keep in mind, you'll need to restore defaults if you already have a code in this area.

8S2eed37.png Switched On Joust  :bronze
J.S. Joust - Start a game every day of the week

Easy trophy, but keep in mind this game is designed to be played with the Move controller. Make sure you have the box checked next to regular controller in the option for the game to start (you will need 2 controllers to play this).

Assuming you want to do this fast, just change the Date and Time settings on the XMB manually 7 times, to each day of the week and boot up the game J.S. Joust.

9S841a5f.png Feliz Aniversário  :bronze
Hokra - Play Rio as Brazil on Ramiro's birthday (July 10)

Simple trophy, just play the Rio stage as Brazil on July 10th. Assuming you want to do this fast, just change the Date and Time settings on the XMB manually to July 10th and boot up the game. Select Brazil as your team by using Trophy will pop right away once you start.

Below is a video showing how this is done, credit to xRizkay on YouTube:

10Sc87fe5.png Staten Island Ferry  :bronze
Hokra - Complete a pass from corner to opposite corner on New York City

This trophy is a bit tricky, since you need to get the right trajectory to do this.  You'll need to have 2 players and set one in the opposite corner from where you are (pink & pink for example).  To throw the ball, just pick it up, hold :l1 or :r1, depending on which you use, and release it while moving in the direction towards the opposite corner.  It should throw it towards the other player, which you need to catch the ball with.

Below is a video showing how this is done, credit to xRizkay on YouTube:

11S539115.png Showoff  :bronze
Hokra - Win a match while taunting for at least 50% of your scores

You will need 3 controllers to make this easy or you can share on 2 in order to get this trophy.  If you are using 3 controllers, you need to hold :square, :triangle, & :circle while scoring by just sitting in your assigned box, which will fill up.  The alternative controls for sharing two controllers is :l3 + Up & Left on the d-pad for the left player or :r3 + :circle + :triangle for the right player.  You'll know you are taunting because the player will spin.

Below is a video showing how this is done, credit to Michael Scholz on YouTube:

12S511137.png Airborne  :bronze
BaraBariBall - Stay in the air for at least 30 seconds

Sounds tricky, but this is pretty easy to do.  Go to Options, mark the checkbox on Choose Jumps, then select Popo as your character, set him to 9 jumps, and select Rainbow Ruins as the stage.  You'll want to jump off the side, by holding :cross and keep hitting :r1 & :l1 to dash back and forth, extending your air time.  As you get lower into the water, jump back up 2-3 times by pressing and holding :cross, then keep dashing back and forth.  You'll get the trophy pretty easily using this method.

Below is a video showing how this is done, credit to xRizkay on YouTube:

13Sa46920.png Belly Of The Beast  :bronze
BaraBariBall - Complete a match on Lagoon At Dusk

Easy trophy, but based on random luck.  Simply start a game of BaraBariBall against a 2nd controller and change the Settings to 1 point for the game, choose Random as the stage.  Start up the match, grab the ball and throw it right into your opponents water for a score and game over.  Select Rematch, rinse and repeat.  Eventually you'll get the Lagoon At Dusk stage randomly.

Below is a video showing how this is done, credit to xRizkay on YouTube:

14Se3125c.png Super Clash Bros  :bronze
BaraBariBall - Clash 5 times in a row

A clash is counted when two players connect at the same time and flash white while attacking each other.  I found the easiest way to do this was to pick Popo for both controllers, then pin the 2nd controller into the wall/corner on the Marble Chamber stage and just press :square at the same time on both controllers.

Below is a video showing how this is done, credit to xRizkay on YouTube:

Alternatively, there is second method utilizing Joshi's down+ :square move at the same time and here is video showing how this is done, credit to Michael Scholz on YouTube:

And there's a third method, outlined by Red_Rebel:

An easy way to get super clash bros, is to have both of the big characters stand next to each other and facing the same direction. Hold down square and they'll do a rush/dash attack and clash more than five times.

Thanks Red Rebel!  I'll add this to the guide as well.

Small thing but the trophies for JS Musicfriends and He'll be Bach are mixed up. The Bach code is 1685 because that's when Bach was born, the code for the Sportsfriends theme is 2014.

Yes, the game is terrible, but you also have to remember that people on Kickstarter also gave someone $55,492 to make potato salad:
