Not sure we've used this thread much in the past, but I hate the blanks... What is everyone currently watching right now or what is the last movie you saw?

I'm currently in the 3rd Season of Dexter (I'm really late to the game) and I absolutely love that show.

As far as movies, the last one I saw was Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part II, the finale. I never read the books, so I was quite excited to see how this one ended. Personally, it was a fantastic movie although I thought it was a little predictable as far as the ending. I did enjoy the little prologue at the end too. Fitting end to an awesome series. :D

I'm watching the last season of Smallville at the moment. One of my favorite TV shows. Too bad it's over. :(
I wish they would make another season of Lost. That'd be awesome.

I could never get into Lost. I tried it for like a season and a half and I just got frustrated because they were never going to tell us what was going on...

I loved Smallville. I was addicted to that show. My wife and I Netflix most of our TV show now. Right now we are watching Modern Family. Pretty funny. Cameron is my fav character. He is so over the top. I am also finishing up the last seasons of Buffy and Angel. Lame I know but I like. I hope to get into True Blood and Dexter eventually.

LOL! I've seen some strange Korean films that were really good. The Vengeance Trilogy:

Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance: 복수는 나의 것
Oldboy: 올드보이
Sympathy For Lady Vengeance: 친절한 금자씨

They are pretty awesome, so I'd definitely recommend them to anyone who likes strange, but good, movies...

Just kidding.

Here are some:

Irreversible
Ichi the Killer
Eraserhead
Audition
El Topo
Naked Lunch
Happiness
Old boy
Sympathy for Mr. Vengence
Lady Vengence
A Boy and his Dog
May
M (1931)
Session 9
Last House on the Left (original)
Wolf Creek
Moon
The Thing (80's)
Requiem for a Dream
Donnie Darko
The Human Centipede
Ken Park

Now before you guys go jumping into any of these "weird movies", just know that some are disturbing and some are just out there. I don't watch these movies because they are disturbing but because it takes a lot of me to feel anything when I'm watching a movie. Like when I'm watching a horror movie, I never get scared or care when the people get killed because I either know it is fake, I know it could never happen or I can't identify with the character (that is the movie maker's fault).

I've got Cannibal Holocaust and Salo but I haven't watched either yet.

M has a chilling opening scene but it doesn't actually show anything. It is amazing how a movie that old can still be that powerful. I guess it is because it deals with a subject that will always touch people's emotions.

And those are just the one's that I can think of.

well the trick is that the old movies weren't so graphic and let your imagination do the rest. what was jaws so scary? you didn't actually see the shark till the end. and in psycho you never actually see anyone get stabbed.

now the movies just feel the need to go overboard with guts and gore etc.

the best movies don't need that.

^ Saw that one too! Crazy movie!

Shoe has the Vengeance Trilogy on his list too. Requiem and Darko were both awesome too. I have M and Ichi the Killer as well, but I haven't seen those yet though.

Idk man, that scene from Deliverance was pretty graphic, especially when that movie is usually referred to jokingly.

That crippling scene in Misery looked painful but it was not as bad as the book's version.

You got a purrty mouth....

I watch movies from all over. My top 5 would be

1. The Shining
2. Oldby
3. Alien
4. Mullholland Drive
5. Anchorman

For those that liked Oldboy or the Revenge Trilogy check out Thirst (directed by Oldboy director) and I Saw the Devil (staring the guy who played Oldboy).

I've also seen Hard Candy, pretty funny to me. Usually ultra violence is funny to me. I'll watch anything Takashi Miike directs (Visitor Q and Gozu were fucking strange). I've seen all of shoe's list and as much as I hate to admit it, most are really good.
