Introduction:

Mars: War Logs is science-fiction RPG set on Mars. Story revolves around war between two corporations/guilds Aurora and Abundance, to get control of water the most precious resource on red planet. Game is mix of Rage/Fallout/Red Faction and pretty fun for low budget title.

To get 100% you need to play the game hardest difficulty (Extreme). Its not too bad other than couple annoying parts where enemies might overwhelm you a little. Also doing all side quests (well not all since the trophy is glitched and unlocks earlier) along the the way, upgrading skill tree fully and searching containers/enemies will help on extreme.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Extreme Playthrough

Start the game at the hardest difficulty setting

Play the game following side mission list, talking to Innocence, searching containers and upgrading renegade skill tree.

Once you reach the end of chapter 2, make manual save before doing mission: Choose a side!

Finish the game.

Step 2: Reload

Reload the save made before Choose a side mission, join the other group and play the final chapter again. This time you can lower difficulty to your liking.

Hero of the Resistance :bronze

Finish the game with the Resistance at any difficulty level

Missable!

Unlocks at the end of game

At the end of Chapter 2 you need to choose between two groups: Resistance or Honor Grant, make manual save before doing this and reload it after first playthrough to skip the need of second playthrough.

Man of Honour :bronze

Finish the game with Honour Grant at any difficulty level

Missable!

Unlocks at the end of game

At the end of Chapter 2 you need to choose between two groups: Honor Grant or Resistance, make manual save before doing this and reload it after first playthrough to skip the need of second playthrough.

Good start :bronze

Upgrade a skill

After first fight you gain a level, you receive 2 skill points per level.  Press :left  or press :select  and select skills from menu and choose either Renegade (recommended for Extreme) or Combat and upgrade one skill.

Recycling :bronze

Upgrade an object

Press :select  go to inventory and choose weapons or armors, if the weapon or armor has brow circle on right side of it then it can be upgraded by pressing square.

Pest Control :bronze

Kill 15 moles

In mission First Step In Prison you access Drilling Well, Where you must eliminate the moles.

You will unlock the trophy most likely here if you find and kill them all. Moles appear many times during the playthrough and you may want to try and sneak kill them (Assassins skill!) since they are tough opponents if you fight them head on.

Mentor :bronze

Influence Innocence's personality during your conversations

Missable!

Trophy unlocks at the end of chapter 2.

Regularly press :triangle  next to Innocence and see if you get option to talk to him. Some of the missions like The Coin Killer might have effect on this trophy.

Specialist :bronze

Unlock every skill and upgrade in a single skill tree

Missable!

You need 36 skill points to level one tree full. For Extreme its recommended to level Renegade tree to max, it being stealth based helps on Extreme to sneak on enemies and knock them out by one hit and hiding the bodies. Doing that you can clear whole areas without enemies ever seeing you.

Combat tree also has few skills to help you stay alive:

Science Of Evansion, Tough Skin, Accelerated Metabolism and Weapons Mastery.

But be careful not to spend to many points on other trees and miss chance to fully upgrade your main. When i finished the game on Extreme i was lvl 26 and had 50 skill points used.

Crowbar :bronze

Empty 50 containers

You most likely unlock this at beginning of chapter 2 if you found all in chapter 1.

Square shape boxes that have lights on them and little junk piles count as containers. note they usually glow but not always. Make sure you look behind all corners on all places since they contain components that are very useful on upgrading or selling.

Completionist :silver

Finish all the secondary quests in Mars: War Logs

Missable!

This trophy is glitched. (In a good way it seems)

You don’t need to do all side quests. Trophy unlocked for me at chapter 3 after doing couple .

Here is list of Side Quests (there is more) and the order to do them. Always try to do these first before Main Story missions. (spoiler)

Spoiler

Hard as Nails :silver

Finish the game in Difficult mode

Finish the game in Hard or Extreme

See description for Mutant trophy.

Mutant :gold

Finish the game in Extreme mode

When starting new game select Extreme Difficulty

Go for Renegade build, try to unlock Assassins skill as soon as possible and try to stealth kill enemies to make fights easier.

Always work on side quests before main quests and make manual save regularly in case you choose wrong dialogs and miss side mission or get stuck on hard part. There is also parts where you can farm kill enemies for xp if needed.

There is a lot dialog choices which affect outcome of story and character development. Meaning its important especially on extreme to try to be “good” guy to gain allies to help at some parts of the game and the reputation abilities (-50% off cost of items and +50% health & damage upgrade to partner) help much more than “bad” reputation abilities.

Search all boxes, junk piles and enemies to get components that you can use to upgrade weapons and armor.

And remember to upgrade your weapons and armor if you get new better ones.

Since you get a lot of components you can also sell these (chemical components) to get some extra serum (money) to buy items you might need.

Make sure you have health injection packs and other useful items (grenades/nailgun ammo) on inventory incase you get stuck on some fight.

Remember to make use of sand throw and try to make enemies hit each other by blinding them.

You can choose attack strategy for your partner by pressing :l1 - :triangle
