ROAD MAP

1) Play through challenge mode and clear all the challenges that are open to you.  Only half are open as of now and this will be good practice.  You will also gain better lures for the World Tour. Make sure you unlock It Begins! :bronze after your first challenge. If not, delete your save and try again.

2) Play through world tour mode with any character.  You will unlock the remaining challenges in your 1st world tour

3) Complete all the challenges

4) Complete World Tour Mode with the remaining 3 characters.

5) Mopup any remaining trophies.  At this point you might still be missing the 2200 LB trophy and 500 fishs so if you are.....have fun :)

***IMPORTANT TIPS FOR CHALLENGE MODE***

While playing on each challenge stage, you have to clear 3 objectives.  It will either be catching a certain amount of fish within a certain time limit or catching a certain weight amount within say 2 or 3 fish. If you fail any objective, LET THE TIMER RUN OUT.  If you let the timer you can replay that section of the challenge rather than replaying the whole challenge.

So say you need to catch 2 fish in 100 seconds.  If 100 seconds passes, let the timer run out.

If you need to catch 8 pounds of fish with only 2 fish.  If you catch 2 finish and you do not meet the weight requirement, let the timer run out.

This will save you a bunch of time since sometimes the final challenge might require you to catch a really big fish.

Cleared World Tour Mode with every playable character

You will have to clear world tour mode with each of the 4 characters to get this trophy.  There are 4 save slots when you do world tour mode so you can assign a character to each one.  There are 3 ranks in world tour mode....Amateur, Professional and Master.  You start off on Amateur and you need to win each class to move up in the rankings.

Unfortunately the only tip I can give you to save time is you have a lead of 31 points or more over the person in 2nd place, you can skip a tournament and still maintain your lead.  If you are lucky you can skip 1 to 2 tournaments in each class.

As for upgrading abilities, I personally would mimic AI's skills.

10) 9 LBS 3 Ounces / 4200G - MAX WEIGHT
11a) 5 Fish
11b) 16 LBS 5 Ounces / 7500G
12) 12 LBS 13 Ounces / 5800G

* MAX WEIGHT - This is a tournament where you are only allowed to keep 1 fish that is the biggest you can catch. Early on the the 2 biggest fish will get you a win whereas in the master tournament you will need to catch the biggest to win

You will need to play through both Challenge Mode and World Tour Mode to acquire all the lures. In Challenge mode, receiving 3 stars on a challenge will get you a lure as well as winning a world tour event (it will state in the event you will win a lure).

CHALLENGE MODE TROPHIES:

It Begins! :bronze
Started Challenge Mode

You receive this trophy after completing your first challenge.

NOTE: This trophy is glitched and people have reported issues with this.  You get this trophy 10 minutes into the game so this is why I recommended you do this first just in case.  If it happens to glitch, delete all your save data and try again.

Collected all of the stars in Challenge Mode

There are 10 stages and 4 challenges in each stage.  So all together there is 40 missions you will need to receive 3 stars in to complete. 95% of the challenges are very easy while the other 5% are just time consuming.  Sometimes you will get a challenges that requires you to catch 1 fish over 7 or 8 pounds so that means you need to catch the big fish. Locating the big fish is the hardest part, but once you find it you are golden. Big Fish always follow the same pattern so once you find them at a location they will stay or reappear in that location.

As stated in the road map, if you fail at any challenge let the timer run out the moment you realize you will fail.  That way you can replay that section of the challenge rather than the entire challenge. Another tip is if you fail to hook a fish you do not lose your bait and you continue. So if you see a big fish and a small fish attacks, DO NOT HOOK IT.

As for characters, I think Ai and Kano are the best with the slight edge to Ai.  I seem to catch all my big fish with Ai.

Caught every type of fish in Challenge Mode

Here is a list of fish that you can catch in Challenge Mode:
Blue Gill
Brook Trout
Brown Trout
Florida Largemouth Bass
King Salmon
Northern Spike Largemouth Bass
Rainbow Trout
Redeye Bass
Smallmouth Bass

Caught 20 Super-big fish in Challenge Mode

Any fish that is over 10 pounds is considered a Super-big fish.  Generally you can only find 1-2 on a map but they will always be at that location.  I should have wrote down all the locations but here are the ones I remember.

Again, I found Kano and Ai the best at catching these big fish with a slight edge to Ai.

Cottage Autumn - A little to the right of the pier (its the pier that is a little to the right of where you start)
Highway - A little to the right, near the next set of pillars
Lighthouse - To the Left near the boat
Lodge - To the left of the leftmost wooden pier
Old Bridge - Under the bridge on the right side. Fish seems to hangout between 15-25 feet.
Rocky Heap - Slightly to the left in the middle of the mountain in the background
Ruins - A little to the left. Inside the middle of the ruins
Water Gate - Aim for the middle-right of the big right red door.

One of the biggest grind trophies in the game along with the 2200 lb trophy. By the time you finish, you should be half-way to your goal.  I recommend fishing in the ruins area and picking the last challenge.  Pick any challenge you want, and the fishing spot you will focus on is the area slightly to the left in the middle of the ruins.  They are 2 big fish here along with some other random fish (none of which are the smallest size). The ruins is about 30-35 feet to reel so its an easy distance as well.

The last challenge will net you 9 fish and assuming you catch a big fish each round will get you 70-80 pounds of fish for every 10-15 minutes.

Since I really only have grinding left, I am able to write a majority of the guide. I will try and give more hints on the super-big fish.

All in all though an easy game just long.

I highly doubt many people will stack this but in the Japan version the amounts are in grams and not in pounds.  I will post the gram totals of the fish for the tournaments.

Definitely alot easier the 2nd time through since you know the big fish locations.

I listed the big locations in the guide above.  They will always be at that location but sometimes you need to wait a little bit for them to show up.  The follow the same spawn path everytime

I didn't list every big fish location but I put the only ones you need to know though.
