ROAD MAP

There is no difficulty trophies in the game so you can play on the lowest setting.  If you have any experience with RTS games, this will be very easy for you.  Even with no experience, you should still get through this game with relative ease.  There are only 2 trophies you need to concentrate on because the rest will come with time and that is 10 Heroic Victories and finishing the last campaign with no deaths.

Everything should easily be done in 1 playthrough. I also listed my stats for Heroic Victories to give you an idea on who I used and how fast and accurately I finished. Remember, you might be able to do worse than my stats.

YOUR ARMY

Here is a list of my army.  Snipers and Bazookas should be your priority early on since they are extremely useful. Getting the Anti-Tank and Artillery should be your next goal.

4 Snipers
3 Bazookas
1 Destroyer Tank (Has Anti-Tank Skill to fuck up other tanks)

1 Artillery
2 Commandos ***
1 Medic ( Not necessary but nice to have when you have the 10 Heroic Victories and speed is not an issue)

*** - Only needed for the 15 kills trophy. Once you get it you can reload a save and get your 40000 prestige back if you desire.

Update - Evilspacecow suggested I use the Artillery on the stacking versions and WOW it is awesome.  This think is deadly and can take out a ton of troops in one shot.  It costs 20 fuel though, so it can only be used on the 30 fuel missions.

I discovered that you can actually "cheat the system" by using the red reticule to find tanks on the map that haven't spawned yet into your field of view.  If you just hover around the area where you think a tank may spawn (typically the dirt roads you see on the map), you'll notice that the red reticule separates from the target on the ground, effectively showing an invisible tank that hasn't spawned yet.  One direct shot from the artillery on that spot and your tank problems are gone before they even started.  :)

SKILLS

I will list the skills in the order I believe you should get them. Tactical is extremely important to give your tanks and snipers more shots per turn while logistics helps them carry more ammo so they do not run out.

If you want you can swap 2 or 3 or work on both at the same time.

1) Tactical - Increases number of shots. Maxed out will give your Snipers 2 Shots

2) Logistics - Increases amount of ammo your troops have

3) Offensive - Increases your damage

4) Defensive - Increases your health

5) Charisma - Prestige Per Mission

6) Experience - Better starting experience for new recruits

REPLAYING MISSIONS

If you fail at reaching Heroic Victory you can replay missions.  When you get back to the main screen, there will be an option to load with :square . When you press it you can go back and replay any previous missions. Say you are on Mission 5 and you want to replay Mission 4.  You hit Load and select mission 4 and the game will assume what you did missions 1-3 and let you replay 4.

BE WARNED: Do not go back farther than you need because your game resets to that point in time.  So if you are on mission 9 and you replay mission 2, you will lose all your progress from 2-8.

ALL OTHER TROPHIES

04b.png
Specialist Infantry  :bronze
Recruit your first bazooka (Campaign Mode)

Bazookas are unlocked in mission 2 so recruit one of them in your army for the trophy. You will want a few of these in your army.

05b.png
Retrained!  :bronze
Make first upgrade (Campaign Mode)

You can start upgrading units in mission 2. You start off with 5 generic army members so you will want to make them Bazookas and Snipers. Once you upgrade one of them, the trophy will pop.

06b.png
Armored support  :bronze
Recruit first tank (Campaign Mode)

After a few missions the tanks will be unlocked as a recruit option. There are 4 different tanks and you will want at least 2 in your army.  I would recommend getting the Destroyer Tank because with the Anti-Tank Skill, it is a beast against heavy artillery.

013s.png
Air Support  :silver
Recruit first aircraft (Campaign Mode)

During the second or third campaign, airplanes will be unlocked. Personally, I have never used this and they are very expensive to buy.  I recommend buying one for the trophy and quitting out of the game to keep your prestige points.

07b.png
Destroyer!  :bronze
Destroy 50 German Units (Campaign Mode)

See War Hero :gold

012s.png
Their worst nightmare!  :silver
Destroy 100 German Units (Campaign Mode)

See War Hero :gold

017g.png
War Hero :gold
Destroy 200 German Units (Campaign Mode)

Although this is not a storyline trophy, it might as well be. I got this trophy half-way through the game. Also, replaying missions also counts towards your stats so you will get all these trophies very early on while working towards your heroic victories.

010s.png
Assassin! :silver
Kill 15 German soldiers with the knife (Campaign Mode)

During the 2nd campaign, you will unlock commandos. They have the ability to kill people with the knife and can move 15 spaces. An easy way to do this trophy is the next mission allows only 2 army members to participate. Use 2 commandos and knife as many as you can get and either finish the mission or die.  Now keep replaying the mission until the trophy pops.

I did not find these units very useful so I just got the trophy out of the way and went back to my snipers :)

014g.png
Inspirational General :gold
Max out any of Patton's Skills (Campaign Mode)

This is another trophy that is unmissable.  Max out any of the 6 stats and the trophy will pop.  Since 10 is the max stat and you get 4 points with each Heroic Victory, this is unmissable.  By the end of the game, I actually had max stats.

015g.png
Full army! :gold
Complete the Third Army (Campaign Mode)

To get this trophy you need to recruit 24 members into your army. An easy way to get this trophy is to fill your army with generic members at 1000 prestige points.  Just make sure to quit out when you get the trophy so you get your prestige points back.

021g.png
Supreme commander :gold
Complete fourth operation without casualties (Campaign Mode)

The 4th operation is missions 17-21.  If you already have the Heroic Leader :gold then this will be even easier because you can take your time. Take a Medic if you think you need it, but at this point you should know the strategy of the game.  Always take advantage of your Snipers long range and make sure to always take advantage of :square which will crouch your army member.

The only likely time you will die is if you leave an exposed unit to a enemy's tank.  If you happen to die, just press :start and replay the mission.

011s.png
Heroic :silver
Get 5 Heroic victories (Campaign Mode)

See Heroic Legend :gold

020g.png
Heroic Legend :gold
Get 10 Heroic victories (Campaign Mode)

This will be the only difficult trophy in the game. There are many factors I think go into Heroic Rank but the most important is how fast you finish, how many deaths you have, and how accurate you were during the mission.

Below is the list of missions I finished as Heroic or Major Victory to help you out.  If you have issues on the first mission, just skip it. It was by far the hardest mission to finish as heroic.  Most of the other missions I got Heroic without really trying for it.  I always missed stealth missions by alot so I just ignored those.

Update - Evilspacecow suggested I use the Artillery on the stacking versions and WOW it is awesome.  This think is deadly and can take out a ton of troops in one shot.  It costs 20 fuel though, so it can only be used on the 30 fuel missions.

Added a section for replaying missions in the roadmap.  This is only needed for Heroic Ranks.

Thanks for the guide, RD!  Huge help to have an idea what to aim for while going for the Heroic victories.  In short, never die (don't worry about getting shot though) and always push forward and you'll net Heroic's without much issue.  I ended up with 14 Heroic Victories overall.  A couple tips, based on how I played the game:

1.) I subbed the Commando units for Snipers about half the time.  The Commandos have the most movement spaces, most shots (fully upgraded have 4 per turn), and grenades in case you have an obstacle in between you and the enemy.  The Snipers do have the most range, so they are essential to have, but I would typically use 2 Snipers and 2 Commandos instead of 4 Snipers.

2.) I'd recommend Tactical, then Offensive as your first Patton upgrades to max out.  Tactical is unbelievably useful later in the game, with 2 shots for Snipers and 4 shots for Commandos.  Not to mention extra shots for your tanks.

I never did figure out the stealth missions either and I did get a Heroic Victory on Mission 20.  I finished in 9 turns, with no deaths. I ran 2 tanks, instead of 1 (subbed for a Bazooka) and all the stats were basically the same as yours.

Also, I wanted to try out the planes, but never really got around to it.  I don't think they can be shot down, so they'd have to be really useful on the later levels of the game.  Oh well, maybe I'll try them out on the stack.  :)

Only issue with the commandos is yeah they have 14 movement but Snipers have 13, not much of a downgrade there.  Factor in Snipers have the longest range, thats why I always went with them.  I think for veterans of the game, throwing in a commando is a nice idea but fr most people they are better off with Snipers.

What's the commando range? I know the sniper range is about 20m but I think you can probably hit for up to 22-24m. If the commandos have an 18 range and a grenade I might consider trying to commandos.

I think it might change with Patton's upgrades, because I believe my Sniper range was about 23m and Commandos were around 20m.  But, again, with everyone in this game you can typically shoot beyond your range (except for pistols and grenades).  I shot people with Commandos/Snipers all the time from 35-40m.  The Commandos have SMG's so it's more than one shot, it's like half a clip.

Also, I think one of Patton's upgrades has to do with accuracy, so that might impact your distance as well.

No problem, I experimented a bit just because I wanted to see what the other people could do, although I wish I tried the planes.  I know what you mean, the game can be played on Picnic Day difficulty (seriously, that's the name), so how hard can it be?  LOL!

But, honestly, if this game was required to be played on the hardest difficulty OR require you to get Heroic on every mission, this would be more like a 9/10 or 10/10.

If it had to be on the hardest difficulty you probably would need a walkthrough

The issue with the planes is the fuel cost.  Most maps are 0 or 10 for fuel cost making planes useless.

True, I didn't think about that...  If you had videos or something, it would be easy regardless.  But, this game is far from popular, so not sure videos would ever even happen.

I think the one plane (that takes our troops) is only 10 fuel cost or so.  But the best one is like 20 or 25, so that would be more than what you can use on like 90% of the missions.

Awesome guide. Something I found:

If you want to speed up the game, if you press :triangle during the computers turn it speeds them up.  You can press it 4 times to make the computer go x8.  Now the only issue I found with this is sometimes the computer would come off screen shot me and run off screen and the game was going so fast I did not even notice my guy got shot.  But it is not a big deal.  If you decide it is too fast press :circle during the computers turn to slow it down.

I used the first plane and it was awesome, but it could make Heroic Victory hard.  What it does is shots a line of bullets where you point it (you can say exactly where you want the line).  Any time guys were close together I used it and it would kill them all.  The only issue is is completely raises your shots used.  Since it just fires a line of bullets (probably around 25) only about 5-10 will actually hit.  I still managed to get heroic victory on some as I was able to really cut down the number of turns, but I could see it making it harder.  So if you already have your 10, I would say use it in place of a sniper as it can kill anyone.

That didn't work for me, personally.... I had to fail the mission, continue with X, press Start, let it save, go back to the menu, reload the mission.

Thanks Cap... Typically though it does not matter now as i managed to get in normally whilst playing the first mission of act 2 with an army full of French resistance that all have the knife skill...

It was the last trophy for plat...
