Love the list...until "groove is in the heart" :huh

hehe like i said it's all personal taste.

But one thing I did learn in my process is that, music that you associate with " good times " in your life have alot more weight in what YOU concider good.

So for me, my prime was in the 90's so I have alot a good memories with music from that era.

It's not that I don't have good times/memories now... it just seems like the older ones were better. I my mind no recent music can compare to then.

Totally agree. Music nowadays sucks (my opinion of course). I also love the 90's and some 80's as well. I'm like you. My taste is all over the place. I love Rob Zombie as well as Phil Collins :P . If it sounds good, I like it.

Music is fricking awful these days. Too many shows like X-factor and Pop Idol are saturating the market with pop indulged wannabe's who think they can be the next big artist and only every sing manufactured garbage. A lot of the time its not even about the voice but the image - granted Lady Gaga can sing cos she did some live stuff over here in the UK and it was pretty decent but everything else is a production model aimed to sell sell sell and it works cos they roll the same bullshit out with slight tweaks for the likes of Rhianna, Britney blah blah blah.

I'm a big listener to the electro era of the 80's. Not only do the films like Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Teen Wolf. Back to the Future sit fondly in my heart but the music that went with them does too. Add to that bands like Depeche Mode that grew with the times into a decent Indy(ish) outfit, Guns N Roses and Nirvana I now keep a look out for decent guitar based bands. More often than not i like something to sounds different. A year or so ago a band called Empire of the Sun released an album which was a mix of guitar and 80's influence and mainly the song We Are The People really caught attention. For some reason at the moment i keep listening to Pumped Up Kicks by Foster The People, again i'm relating the song to the film Friends with Benefits which although formulaic was a decent release of last year but it left the song in my head and that normally does it for me.

Dance and Techno is my favorite type of music so don't listen to him. :)

And I also agree with you in the 90's. That was my prime as well and the music is just not the same nowadays. yeah a few songs will get me here and there but in the 90's there were many great songs.

Last year me and some friends had a late night (drunkin) bon fire talk that turned into a discussion about the what is the best song ever. Somehow that turned into each of us putting together OUR OWN best CD of music (80 min) in our own opinion. After about 6 months of tough decision making this is what I came up with.

In no particular order.

Stone Temple Pilots----Dead & Bloated
Run D.M.C.----Peter Piper
Led Zepplin----The Ocean
Metallica----One
The Who----Eminence Front
Eminem----Without Me
Phil Collins----In the Air Tonight
George Thorogood----One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer
Guns N' Roses----One in a Million
Dee Lite----Groove is in the Heart
Dr. Dre----Fuck Wit Dre Day
Gorillaz----Feel Good Inc
Alice in Chains----Don't Follow
Sublime----What I got
Cage the Elephant----Ain't No Rest For The Wicked
The Beastie Boys----Paul Revere

By posting this I am "aging" myself abit :blush .

Obviously your own personal tastes would be diffrent then mine, but I thought it was fun to do.

Love the list...until "groove is in the heart" :huh

Be more sensitive MINI, it is obvious this song was playing when he got his first BJ. JK Ballin :P

I guess I'm the only one that thinks music will never be as good as it was in the 60's/70's.
