Learning a lot about people in the Movie/TV thread, so I figured I'd make a Music one here.

Many wouldn't guess this, but I'm a huge hip-hop/rap fan (which explains why I had to play 50 Cent and Def Jam Rapstar). :P

Anything Lil' Wayne, Drake, Kid Cudi, or Kanye West makes is awesome to me. From the old school rap, I grew up listening to everything from the Beastie Boys to Run DMC to the Fresh Prince, then moved on to the Wu-Tang Clan, 2pac, Dre, and BIG. The South has taken over since then...

I also have a love for 80's music, so I gotta throw that on occasionally. I got to see Heart & Foreigner in concert recently, so that was pretty cool. I'd love to see Journey, even without Steve Perry.

What do you guys (and gal) listen to?

When I first started caring about music I was a metalhead. After a while I just kind of got into everything bit by bit. Really the only stuff I don't like is country, classical or just about anything on the radio.

I use last.fm which tracks everything I play. So if you really want to know what I like go here:

http://www.last.fm/user/strwrngpurple

My favorite genres are electronic (mostly glitchy, chilled stuff), post-rock and then more straightforward rock or metal. Best album of 2011 so far is Swarms. Can not get enough of it.

Hmm, where to start. Actually almost everything that sounds good to me no matter the genre.
But most of the time I listen to scratch music since I'm a DJ.

Monkey - Nice little 2-minute video there! Pretty impressive! Do you still scratch on vinyl a lot, or do you just DJ electronically, like everyone else does now?

I'm into alot of different kinds of music. One group I absolutly love is Rehab. They blend alot of hip hop, rock, regae and electronic. Here's one of there best songs called "Bump".

Can you believe the song was released 10 years before the first Megaman. 1977 it's from. Way ahead of its time :)

I listen to w/e but more into stuff like Classified, Winnipeg's Most, KO, Young the Giant, Mac Miller, Chiddy Bang and stuff like that. I like to try to find bands that people don't know about so I don't hear the songs all the time and they don't become overplayed, which is starting to happen to Classified already :/

I like to find calm/stoner type music. Nothing metal or house.
