Introduction:
Santa's Xmas Adventure is a mobile style puzzle game where you move path tiles to guide Santa to the exit, and collecting up to 3 gifts per level. There are 3 modes with 240 levels in each. In Gift mode you have unlimited time and moves. In Classic mode you have to reach the end in a set amount of moves. In Moving mode you again have a limited number of moves but Santa also starts walking automatically and you have to make sure he doesn't fall off the path on his way to the exit.
All of the puzzles are pretty easy but Moving mode is impossible without using hints. You may have to make up to 6 moves in the time it takes Santa to walk a single tile and even the fastest players won't be able to do more than 4. This may be possible on a mobile device but with the controller and with the very unresponsive controls it just can't be done (don't even bother with motion controls, it doesn't make anything better). The majority of your time will be just sitting idle waiting for your hints to recharge. It takes 10 minutes for each hint and you can bank up to 10 at a time. See the roadmap for the optimal route.
Roadmap:
You will spend most of your time for this platinum waiting for hints to recharge. The recharge timer only runs when you are inside a level and in Moving mode the timer will pause when you fail. To optimize your time you will want to get 200 gifts to unlock Moving mode. Now try to complete as many Moving mode levels that you can and use up all your banked hints as needed. Once you use up your hints go back to Gift mode. Complete levels until you bank 10 hints and then go back to Moving mode. Use up your hints again and repeat. This way you are banking hints while working on levels that don't need them. Once you finish Gift and Classic modes you will likely not have finished all the Moving mode levels. The hint timer only counts down when the level is active so it doesn't work very well to idle while in the Moving mode. You can try to beat the levels without hints but most are impossible or too frustrating to bother with. Your best bet is to use all but 1 hint. Then when you have 1 hint left use it and idle at this point. You cannot lose the level while the hint is up so the timer will continue while the level is waiting for you to make your first move. If you have 0 hints left then you can just go back to a previous mode and idle there.
240 hints at 10 minutes per hint is roughly 2400 minutes or 40 hours just waiting on hints to recharge. You do earn free hints every 10 levels and there are a handful of Moving mode levels you can do without hints so this may vary but it's still a really long time idling. This is why you want to generate hints while working on levels that don't need them. Worst case scenario just idle the game while doing something else and come back every couple of hours to use up your banked hints.
